Peon feeding: little tricks

Peony - this is a stunningly blooming perennial decorative garden culture. Unlike many flowers, which must necessarily be transplanted every few years, peonies can grow in the same place without a transplant for decades. Luxurious inflorescences of peonies can have a coloring as gentle, pastel, and bright, saturated. They stay on the bush and in the cut for a long time. Lush leaves of peonies decorate the plot for the whole season, becoming crimson in autumn. Of course, like all garden flowers, peonies like "tasty", that is, different feeding. Peony feeding is carried out throughout the season and can be both foliar and radical. Let's talk about each species in more detail.

Foliar top dressing

Foliar top dressing of pions occurs by spraying the leaves with a solution of a complex mineral fertilizer. And the smaller the droplets are when sprayed, the more the effect will be from this procedure. Spraying is carried out in the evening or in cloudy weather, when the stomata opens in plants. To better absorb the fertilizer, you can add a little soap or detergent to the solution. In this way, it is very good to feed young plants once a week, starting from the second week of May.

Adult plants also respond very well to foliar top dressing. They are carried out three times per season at intervals of three weeks in this way: urea - urea + mineral fertilizers - mineral fertilizers. Why so? At the beginning of growth plants need nitrogen contained in urea, during budding - nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, during the bookmarking of renal regeneration, nitrogen is no longer needed, therefore, urea is excluded from the composition of top dressing.

Feeding of peonies in spring with organic fertilizers

Top dressing with organic fertilizers is performed for adult plants during the formation of buds and the beginning of flowering by the radical method. It can be a solution of mullein or bird droppings in a proportion of 1:10 and 1:25, respectively.

Radical top dressing of peonies with mineral fertilizers

Feeding of mineral fertilizers under the root is carried out three times per season, starting from the end of March and beginning of April, when the fertilizer granules can be scattered directly over the snow. They will dissolve in the melt water and soak into the soil - the goal will be achieved. In the summer season fertilizer is also spread on the soil at the roots, trying not to touch the neck of the bush. Beforehand, water is poured, and after applying the fertilizer, the surface is sprinkled with one more layer of earth and compacted.

Feeding peonies with bread

Fertilizer from bread is one of the best for peony, despite the fact that it belongs to folk recipes. It is prepared in this way: half a loaf of rye bread or crust remaining after eating, soaked in cold water and allowed to brew for half a day, so that the mass swelled. After that, it is diluted with a bucket of water and this composition watered the plants at the beginning of the growing season.

As you can see, the feeding of peonies as a whole differs little from the fertilization of other garden flower crops. It is important only to comply with the regime and properly choose the composition for fertilizing, and then your garden peonies will necessarily delight you every season with lush greenery and long luxurious flowering.
