Onion salad - the guarantee of health

There is no better garnish for meat than a salad of fresh vegetables. We suggest you try an original onion salad that is suitable for both shish kebab and meat prepared according to any other recipe.

Ingredients "Onion salad"

  • Bow - 3 large heads;
  • Greens - 1 bunch (parsley, dill, coriander, green onion feathers ) ;
  • Celery celery - 100 g;
  • Apple - 1 pc.


Ingredients for marinade:

  • Vinegar - 3 tbsp. L. (Can be replaced with lemon juice or wine vinegar) ;

  • Sugar - 1 tsp;
  • Salt - 1 tsp.

Cooking

To prepare a dish such as a leek salad, you need to peel the onion and wash it well. To cut a vegetable follows semirings of average thickness - then it will well release from itself bitterness and it will be impregnated with a marinade.

When the whole onion is sliced, add it to a colander and pour it over with boiling water. Then you should let the water drain, and then move the onions to ice water. Sliced onions slightly squeezed out and put on a paper towel, which absorbs excess moisture. Lettuce onion is prepared in such a way that one should not worry about the unpleasant odor after its use. When storing such a salad in the refrigerator, no extraneous smells are not spread. Even on the second day the onion salad does not lose its freshly prepared properties, as the onion is marinated.

The next step in preparing a delicious salad is marinade. Vinegar (or lemon juice), vegetable oil, your favorite seasonings (in reasonable quantities), as well as salt and sugar - everything should be mixed in a large bowl and carefully grind until a homogeneous sauce is obtained. The use of vinegar for the marinade will give it an acidic and sharpish taste, and the lemon juice is softer and tender. Also, sometimes a mixture of lemon and orange juice is used to prepare onion salad, but in this variant it is better not to use as a greenery the ground part of the onion - green feathers. Therefore, use vinegar or lemon juice for your personal taste preferences.

Now, take on the greens - any that you have at hand, and what you use when cooking various dishes. The greens are thoroughly washed and finely shredded. After that, add to it chopped celery cherry, then mix everything with the marinade. The apple is peeled from the peel, seeds and hard separating plates inside the fruit. It can be rubbed on a large grater, or it can be cut into thin strips.


Cool the onion, put it in a deep dish, add the finely chopped apple and pour the sauce. All neatly mixed, tamped and put for a couple of hours in the refrigerator - for impregnating and pickling onions until the salad is ready. The dishes, in which the onion salad is prepared, should not be metal!

This salad is an excellent snack for shish kebab and other meat dishes that are cooked during picnics. However, onion salad can be served as a separate dish at the reception of guests. They will surely like him. Try to cook onion salad, and it will become a permanent guest in your kitchen!
