Very often when preparing different dishes, we are faced with the need to pickle onions. Inexperienced housewives usually use the simplest recipe by pouring onions with diluted vinegar. This is a completely acceptable culinary method. But more sophisticated culinary experts know that for different foods pickle onions need differently.

For example, for onion salad from beef with pomegranate onions marinate for as long as 12 hours. It is cut into thin half rings, placed in a glass or ceramic dish, add 1 clove, 1 bay leaf, pour 6% vinegar, cover, leave for 12 hours. After the expiration of this time, when the marinovka of onion is finished, it is well squeezed, added to the salad. To prepare a salad 1 kg of tender boiled softly, cut the beef with small straws, mix with 1 kg of pickled onions, add 0.5 kg of pomegranate seeds. Season the salad with mayonnaise mixed with a drop of pomegranate juice. Salt, pepper - to taste.

To marinate onions for herring under a fur coat, it is cut very small cubes, immersed for 10 minutes in 6% vinegar. Before being added to the salad, wash with warm water and allow to drain. Marinated onion gives the dish a special flavor and sharpness, shading the taste of herring.

It often happens that bulbs that have nowhere to store, begin to deteriorate. In order not to give them a complete chasm, you can prepare a canned salad dressing. The bulbs are cleaned, cut into rings or semirings, placed in a jar. On a liter jar, tightly stuffed with rings, add salt and pepper to taste, half a spoonful (tea) of sugar, a little pepper. Pour apple or ordinary 6% vinegar and water, at a rate of 3x1. Marinate the onions by placing it in the refrigerator. There it can be stored for a long time. They are well seasoned with vegetable salads, grilled meat or fish.

You can marinate onions not only for salads. A very tasty snack, especially in winter, will be bulbs marinated in vinegar or beet-apple juice.

First about how to pickle onion in vinegar. You can take bulbs of any size and cut them. However, the best look is small onions, entirely placed in jars. They are cleaned, filled with boiling water, and densely packed in glassware. I put 2 carnations, 1 bay leaf, three peas of sweet and sweet pepper on a liter jar. There I add a few berries of red currant or a couple of cherries. Of course, it is best to cook the marinade in a common pan at once for a few cans. But I do not have this opportunity, so I do it differently.

Layed in cleanly washed jars of onion and spices, I pour boiling water, leave for 5 minutes. This water is poured into a saucepan, I bring it back to a boil, and for another 5 minutes I fill the jars. When the water boils for the third time, directly into the jars I add a teaspoon of sugar, salt, 9% vinegar. I fill it with boiling water, roll it, wrap it with a blanket. If the banks are washed well, canned food will stand for several years. Finished onion turns gently pink, spicy-sweet. Excellent snack for shish kebab, fish.

To pickle onions in apple juice, you must first prepare a marinade. It is boiled by mixing 150 g of beet and apple juice, adding sugar and salt to taste. Should get a sweet and sour broth, which is poured previously scalded with boiling water, spread on the banks of the bulbs. Poured marinade banks are immersed in boiling water, sterilized for 20 minutes, then rolled.

And quite sophisticated, but quite expensive, there will be pickled onions in red currant juice. Exquisite - because its taste, tender and sharp, unique, and the form - red and pink - is unusual. Expensive, because for marinovki onions in this way you need undiluted freshly squeezed juice of red currant.

Just like in the previous recipes, the bulbs are placed in jars, add cloves, laurel, sweet pepper. Only pour the cans of boiling currant juice, and then sterilize. Exquisite refined taste like everyone.
