Ointment 'Lorinden A' for the treatment of dry inflammatory processes

The ointment "Lorinden A", produced in tubes, contains salicylic acid in low concentration and flumethasone pivalate. The latter is a steroidal anti-inflammatory agent (glucocorticosteroid) - a hormonal drug. Ointment has an average intensity of local anti-inflammatory effect, long enough in time, reduces itching on affected areas, removes allergic manifestations. Under the influence of ointment protein synthesis decreases and collagen deposition decreases, the manifestation of exudative reaction decreases due to vasoconstrictive effect. Salicylic acid in its present concentration shows keratolytic action (actively exfoliates dead skin cells that have died out).

Ointment "Lorinden A" accumulates in the skin, which easily penetrates through the stratum corneum, without being metabolized. This property prolongs the local therapeutic effect of the ointment. A small amount of it, penetrating the body, also has a systemic effect. From the body metabolized in the liver drug is excreted in the urine and bile, part comes out unchanged. The more often a drug is used, the higher it becomes with the time its absorption, which also depends on age (in young people it is higher than in older people).

Indications for the use of the "Lorinden A" ointment are dry skin inflammations that are not accompanied by bacterial infections. This is a different etiology of allergy with itching and persistent peeling: contact eczema, dermatitis, lichen (flat and pink), prolonged psoriasis, lupus erythematosus, erythema multiforme.

To remove the first irritating symptoms, Lorinden A ointment is applied up to 3 times a day or as an occlusive dressing (the latter is much more effective), which is changed once or twice a day. After the disappearance of external manifestations of the disease continue treatment for 3 to 4 days, applying ointment 1 - 2 times a day. Duration of treatment is limited to two weeks, and for the face (skin is more tender) for one week. One tube is designed for one week of use.

Contraindications to the use of "Lorinden A" ointment instructions are various viral and bacterial skin diseases, oncology, skin tuberculosis, acne (normal and pink), inflammation of varicose veins. Do not use the drug for large areas of skin with broken integrity, for example, burned. Ointment is contraindicated in pregnant women in the first trimester and children.

The drug has side effects that need to be considered, so do not prescribe it yourself. The occurrence of side effects is most likely with prolonged use - more than two weeks. On the other hand, it is impossible to sever sharply the treatment for chronic diseases, such as psoriasis or eczema. There may be cases where additional treatment with antibacterial or antifungal agents may be necessary. The use of "Lorinden" ointment reduces the effectiveness of immunomodulators and immunostimulants, and no other interactions with medications have been identified.

It is highly undesirable to use the drug for the skin near the eyes, one of the side effects may be the development of cataracts or glaucoma. Only in cases of extreme need is shown the use in the inguinal and axillary areas - a high degree of absorption increases the likelihood of side effects.

If there are suspicions of bacterial infections in the affected areas, it may be more appropriate to use the Lorinden C ointment, which also contains clioquinol. This substance, which exhibits a light anti-fungal action, and is also effective for the destruction of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.
