New metro scheme of Moscow with the CIT: will it be easier to move around?

Metropolitan Metro is constantly changing. New stations and lines are being built. This allows you to combine different areas of the city and suburbs into a single transport network. Metropolitan allows you to quickly get from one area to another, without idle for several hours in traffic jams, which in Moscow - not uncommon. One of the main lines is the ring line, which until 2016 was the only branch of the metro that intersected with all other lines. This year, the Moscow Railway (Moscow Ring Road) opened. It partially duplicates the second ring of the highway, and in the north of Moscow passes above it. In the article we will tell you what the peculiarities of the CZKD are, how the new Moscow metro system looks like, let's consider other important points.

Metro of Moscow

The Metropolitan of Moscow has one of the most complex schemes in the world. It consists of 14 lines and 203 stations, among which there are both underground and ground ones. Most of the metro lines pass through the whole city. There are also short lines with only 2-3 stations in their composition and connecting non-intersecting branches. Also there are 2 roundabouts, one of which is not quite a traditional underground. It will be discussed later.

New ring line: how it looks

The Moscow Ring Railway is a railroad for the most part of an open ground type. It passes in the flat territory, over the roads and difficult areas passes through the bridge. On the new ring line there are 31 stations, among which there are both separate and intersecting with other metro lines.

Before MKZhD they go not ordinary subway train, but trains, more like trains. These trains are called "swallows". They are equipped much better than simple trains running in the underground metro. They are larger in size, more spacious, they have more seats. They also have toilets, screens, space for carrying prams and bicycles. The cars even promise to be equipped with sockets for recharging gadgets, but the Wi-Fi network is still in doubt. Make it want, but when and how much qualitatively, it is still unknown.

New ring line: how it works

The Moscow metro line with the CWC shows that many stations of the ring line will have crossings at the metro station. Such stations will be 17. When transplanting from 11 stations, the transition to the metro will be through closed galleries: metro engineers call this the principle of "dry feet". From 10 stations of the Cherepovets railway it will be possible to change to suburban trains. And with ground transportation stops, it is planned to link each stop. This has already been done, but not yet in full. To get from one station to another, it takes from 2 to 5 minutes.

Trains run at intervals of 5-6 minutes during peak hours (in the morning and in the evening), 10-15 minutes at the rest of the time. The time of work does not differ from the rest of the metro - from 6 am to 1 am.

The fare for the MLC is the same as in the subway - 50 rubles. Also, the same travel cards operate ("Troika", "90 minutes", preferential, etc.). Unless, when going from the metro station to the station of the Cherepovets Railroad Station, you will have to use the card again or pay a fare using a single ticket.

How the subway scheme looks now

The updated metro map of Moscow with the MKZHD began to look more extensive and full. The metropolitan began to cover a much larger area, and to travel from one station to another (which previously required, for example, 3 transplants) now can be with 1 transfer or without them at all.

Advantages and disadvantages of the LRC

CZHD, like any innovation in the big city, has its advantages and disadvantages. First, consider the advantages:

  1. Reducing the time taken to travel from point A to point B on the Moscow metro. The scheme with the new stations, presented above, allows, maybe, not to orientate faster in it, but now it's become more realistic to make a trip without unnecessary transfers.
  2. Reducing the passenger flow on the first ring line and, as a consequence, unloading it.
  3. The new transport scheme of the Moscow metro with the CWC covers remote areas of Moscow and the Moscow region.
  4. Development of infrastructure and construction of empty areas next to the new stations of the CZD.

Disadvantages:

  1. Many did not like the updated metro in Moscow. The scheme with the new stations baffles both tourists and local people. But we think, you can get used to it.
  2. Travel by CZHD is paid separately from the standard metro. That is, it turns out that it is advantageous to travel on a new road only to those who have preferential travel or who travel without transfers.
  3. A temporary drawback is that there is not yet a new metro scheme for Moscow with the Cherepovets railway, so you have to rely either on the old schemes, or on mobile applications and printed cards. But this will change within a couple of months.

Further perspectives

In the future it is planned to finish all the transitions to adjacent stations of the underground metro, to take out the exits from the MLC to the public transport stops. While Moscow's metro system with the Moscow Railway is not very well known not only for Russians, but even for Muscovites. Therefore, already there is a replacement of signs with the scheme in the metro and on the streets. The flow of people to the CZKD is still not so large, but gradually increasing the number of passengers and, accordingly, increasing profits.

Also, next to the stations of the MLC, it is planned to build new residential complexes, since previously hard-to-reach territories ceased to be such. So, for example, the plan of building of the former territory of ZIL plant has already been proposed. In general, it is expected that the MKZH will breathe new life into remote areas and into the transport infrastructure of the capital.
