Kolomna Heavy Machine Tool Plant

Kolomna Heavy Machine-Tool Plant (Kolomna) is the leading enterprise in Russia producing presses and metal-cutting machine tools for various purposes. It is part of the structure of the Stankotech production center.

Historical reference

Kolomensky plant of heavy machine-tool industry marked the centennial anniversary. Back in 1914 agricultural workshops were built on this site. A year later they were bought by the Kolomna machine-building plant, and instead of seeders and winnowers, the production of shells began.

After the revolution, Plant No. 4 retained its specialization. Before the Great Patriotic War the production of artillery and antiaircraft guns was mastered. By the end of the 41st the main facilities of the enterprise were evacuated to Krasnoyarsk, and in the empty workshops repair of machinery and assembling of vehicles arrived under lend-lease was organized.

In 1948, on the basis of a defense enterprise, it was decided to create a powerful machine-tool plant, which the post-war country needed so much. The first machines were manufactured in May 1948. For several decades, the CPPC has become one of the largest manufacturers of metal-working equipment in the world.

Today's Day

OJSC "Kolomna Heavy Machine Tool Plant" for 100 years has accumulated a wealth of experience. Its production capacity allows us to supply efficient technological solutions on the basis of unique and high-tech machinery and equipment.

Main specialization:

  • Manufacture of presses and various types of metalworking machines.
  • Overhaul and modernization of machine tools.
  • Release of rigging, components.
  • Maintenance and repair, including after-warranty.
  • Delivery of imported machine tools.

In addition to the production of equipment, the Kolomna plant carries out:

  • Processing of parts according to the drawings of the customer.
  • Complex preparation of new productions, scientific developments and innovative projects.
  • Development of control programs for CNC, the introduction of specialized software systems.

Structure of production

Kolomensky Plant is part of ZAO Stankotech. Its structure includes:

  • Management, with the Department of Marketing and Accounting.
  • Department of Electricians and Commissioning, including the laboratory of complete control systems and the development sector of specialized software.
  • The department of the chief designer, which includes two main areas: the development and design of new unique equipment, including metalworking and pressing equipment, and the development of projects for the modernization and repair of existing metalworking and pressing equipment.
  • The department of the chief technologist, which includes in addition an area of technical control, a tool preparation site and a normalization site.
  • The main production, which includes machine-assembly shops, machining workshops, procurement and mechanical shop and forging and blanking production.
  • The production of electrical equipment includes an assembly site and a design bureau.
  • Subsidiary production includes all auxiliary services for servicing the main production, including services responsible for the life support of buildings, crane facilities, boiler houses and other structures.

Production

In OAO Kolomensky Zavod they produce large-sized heavy machines and presses. The release of new models, overhaul and modernization are carried out at the production facilities in the city of Kolomna. Currently, the total area of workshops and management structures is more than 85,000 m 2 .

The capabilities of the production base allow to design and turn "turnkey" machines, presses and automated complexes of any complexity up to 850 tons in the shortest possible time. The total number of employees of the production center, including auxiliary production, exceeds 400 people, which allows you to quickly and quickly fulfill a large number of orders for customers from different regions of Russia. The dimensions of the workshops allow simultaneously producing and repairing up to 40 units of forging and pressing and metal cutting equipment.

Standards and Quality

Kolomensky Plant successfully combines proven technologies of production of unique machine tools and the most modern technologies of domestic and world machine-tool construction. In 2011 the production center was certified according to the quality standards of GOST RISO 9001-2008.

The management maintains the closest contacts with customers. If necessary, partners can conduct a full technical examination of production. Within the framework of the developed solution, the most suitable technologies are developed for specific projects:

  1. Carry out the selection of equipment.
  2. They make their own machines or supply imported equipment.
  3. Develop and implement industrial software.
  4. Conduct training of workers and maintenance personnel.
