House made of timber 8x8. Planning and construction

The tree remains one of the most popular materials for the construction of houses. And if earlier used for the most part a log frame, nowadays many prefer houses of a bar.

Planning

A house made of 8x8 timber is considered the most suitable option for construction. This size is suitable for living a family of 3-4 people throughout the year. The area of the house allows for spacious accommodation for all family members. This is one of the advantages of buildings of this size.

The second plus is that the house project from the 8x8 bar includes a large number of windows. Thanks to this, the rooms in the house will not lack sunlight. And this will lead to energy savings.

The 8x8 standard house has a bedroom, a living room, a kitchen, a bathroom and a spacious hall (entrance hall). In addition, the cases of terrace arrangement are not rare.

Popular is a two-storey house made of 8x8 timber (or a house with an attic). Due to the second floor, the living area is increasing. This allows the bedroom to be moved to the second floor. In addition, upstairs usually arrange children's rooms, offices. Another option - arrangement on the ground floor of the guest room or a large living room combined with a dining room.

Material selection

The beam can be of several types:

  1. Glued beam is advantageously different from other lumber. Compliance with the production technology allows to obtain a material of the required size with the correct geometric shape, not shrinking and not warping. This type is characterized by improved qualities for thermal insulation, air permeability and tightness. Produce a glued beam by gluing the dried boards. On the edges there is a system for fixing the "comb-groove". Thanks to this, the bars are connected without gaps and gaps. This allows you to save on the insulation. House made of 8x8 beams will have an attractive appearance, which does not need additional facings. Due to this, you can save extra.
  2. A bar of natural moisture is common because of its low cost. Has a significant disadvantage: due to high humidity (up to 80%) shrinkage occurs. As a result, in a year or two after the construction there will be cracks.
  3. Profiled bar is more qualitative material. It is manufactured with high accuracy. Houses from a profiled beam of 8x8 are therefore easily assembled, and this does not take much time. The outside of the house does not require finishing.

Building

House of 8x8 beam starts to be built, like all buildings, with the erection of the foundation. Most often this is a strip foundation made of concrete with a depth of up to 70 cm. This choice is due to the relatively small weight of the wooden beams. On the basement is laid a layer of waterproofing so that the beams do not absorb moisture from the concrete. The lowest crown is executed more in width, since it will hold the weight of the walls and roof. Further construction is erected with the help of pegs (nagels). In the case of a profiled beam, simply join the grooves.

In the first row are mounted logs for laying the floor. The rough floor is laid on them . Further heat and waterproofing. And only then - the finishing floor.

Door and window openings are provided already in the process of assembling the walls. The shape of the walls is kept by means of special frames - casing. In process of erection of walls also internal partitions are erected.

On the finished walls are laid ceiling slabs. Next, the roof is built.
