Grow tomatoes for the greenhouse correctly

Tomatoes have always been the most frequently cultivated crop in Russian regions. One of the most popular varieties of tomatoes for the greenhouse are the following: Hurricane F1, Blagovest F1, Typhoon F1, Kostroma F1, Tomat Bull's heart, Novinus Prednystrovya and others. But even experienced gardeners can make mistakes when growing them. From this article you will learn how to plant tomatoes in a greenhouse correctly.

Prepare the greenhouse

First of all, you should prepare a greenhouse.

For this purpose, thoroughly disinfect it in the autumn, flush the glass both inside and outside in the spring. Two weeks before planting the seedlings, cover the film greenhouse with a new film, so the soil will warm up more quickly, then well pour the earth with water, this will reduce the concentration of the former fertilizers. Next, disinfect the soil with a solution of copper sulfate, which is prepared at the rate of 1 tablespoon per 5 liters of water, and dilute the solution in hot water, then add fertilizer.

In the spring about two weeks before planting the seedlings, fertilize the soil. Carefully read the instructions for the cultivation of mineral fertilizers, written on packages. It is possible to fertilize the soil with complex fertilizers of "Kemir" or "Rastvorin". The tomatoes for the greenhouse will grow better if you add a piece of black peat to the bucket to retain moisture in the soil.

Planting of seedlings .

Usually in Russia seedlings of tomatoes in a greenhouse are planted in early May. If your greenhouse is covered with a second layer of film, then you can plant the seedlings and April 25. Carefully inspect the soil, if it is loamy and poorly heated, then plant the seedlings no earlier than May 15. Also consider the temperature of the air, it should be at least 14 degrees of heat.

Before planting seedlings, you can plant the first greens around the edges of the beds: leaf lettuce, Peking cabbage, radish and other.

To maintain the desired temperature, equip the greenhouse with two thermometers. Before planting seedlings, sprinkle it to prevent the appearance of brown spots and late blight. Spraying is produced by a 1% solution of vitriol and copper chloride.

Next, mark out the wells. In each hole put a part of humus, baked ash and crushed superphosphate. Then pour the holes with water. Typical seedlings are planted vertically, and overgrown in an inclined direction. Soil does not condense or water to prevent the appearance of a surface crust. A few days later, grown tomatoes are tied up.

Garter of tomatoes.

Tomatoes for the greenhouse are tied with twine to a special wire, which is attached under the roof of the greenhouse. So the distance between the plants will increase, they will be easier to form, and the fruits will receive sunlight in sufficient quantities. To form tomatoes, do not forget to remove the side shoots of the plant, pinch them at the growth point and remove a part of the leaves. Remember that medium-tall and tall tomatoes in the greenhouse are formed in different ways.

Features of cultivation of tomatoes in a greenhouse.

Tomatoes self-pollinate culture. The lack of sunlight, low air temperature can make it difficult to fertilize. High illumination on the contrary will promote growth and formation of pollen. The optimum temperature regime is 23-26 degrees Celsius. Low illumination and high humidity can lead to the loss of the flower and the absence of a fruit string. In the morning it is necessary to ventilate the greenhouse, this measure will improve the pollination of plants. Once a day, mildly shake the plants and pour the paths to moisten the air.

Watering tomatoes for the greenhouse is rare and abundant, mostly in the morning. In spring, watering is performed once in 10 days, in the summer once a week. Watering plants should be under the root of cool water. After watering, open the greenhouse and ventilate it. To get a good harvest, do not forget to regularly feed tomatoes.

Tomatoes for the greenhouse mature in late August, but do not forget that late-harvested fruit can rot and blacken. In addition, tomatoes can ripen with proper storage. Remember, a good harvest of tomatoes can be obtained only by following the rules of cultivation and with careful care of seedlings.
