Phlox worm-shaped - planting and care, cultivation and reproduction

Phloxes are perennial (subulate) very much loved by gardeners and landscape designers. In this there is nothing surprising: being rather unpretentious plants, they have many kinds of the most diverse coloring.

In natural environments phloxes grow in forests, in places with moist soil. Intensive growth and luxuriant flowering, they reach, growing in moist nutritious soils.

When planting plants in a garden area, they should provide those conditions in which they grow in nature. You should not plant phloxes near fruit trees - they do not really like shade, besides the flowers will lack nutritional elements. Plants negatively relate to stagnation of water in the root system, therefore, the areas with ground water close to the surface are not suitable for them. The ideal place for flowers will be a light penumbra, sheltering them from the scorching sun in the hot hours of the day.

Phlox is subulate, planting and care for which are carried out properly, almost no problem with flowering. Despite the unpretentiousness, plants, of course, need basic care.

If you decide to plant phlox in your area, it is better to prepare the soil in advance, from autumn. Flowers are usually planted in the spring after the soil is thawed. The most important requirement for the land in which flowers will grow is moisture and essential nutrients.

After planting phlox should be watered abundantly. Then, when the flowers take root, it is recommended to feed them with a weak solution of the mullein.

Phlox is subulate, planting and care for which do not provide the necessary moisture, grows low, inflorescences are small, and their number is very small. Such plants very quickly fade.

Phlox, helical: cultivation and care

To flowers for a long time pleased with their splendor and had a decorative look, they must be fed. Phloxes react very well to the feeding of wood ash containing potassium and lime. Thanks to such elements, the brightness of the inflorescences increases, in addition, they become more resistant to diseases.

Phlox-shaped (planting and care for it does not require special conditions of detention) can be planted even in autumn. However, it is impossible to delay with landing in a ground: if flowers do not have time to take roots, they will perish in the winter.

Planting phlox in the fall

Flowers are planted with stems, cutting off about one-third of the piece. You can not cut the stems to the very bottom, otherwise the plant will freeze in winter. Two weeks before planting flowers prepare the soil, introducing all the necessary fertilizers.

If it turned out that you did not have time to plant phlox in time, do not worry, you can save the plants. You should find a secluded place, protected from wind and drafts, and gently pryopat flowers at a depth of about 25 cm for the winter seedlings must be covered with peat or fallen leaves.
