Decorative shrubs: white lilac

A real white garden lilac will be a real ornament of any garden, especially in spring. This multi-deciduous deciduous shrubbery blossoms one of the first, and then throughout the site a sweet floral fragrance spreads. There are many varieties of lilac that differ in the shape of the leaves and the color of the flowers. As a result of selection, shades of lilac, blue, pink, purple and unsurpassed tender and pure white are displayed.

Such a variety in the color palette will not leave anyone indifferent. The flowers themselves are small, funnel-shaped, but they are very fragrant. The unique beauty of the white lilac branch is due to abundant, dense inflorescences. The leaves of this bush are of little interest, they can be simple, ovate, entire, lanceolate or oval. However, varieties with dissected or pinnate leaves are quite common. There is another interesting feature of this shrub - it remains green for a very long time. This is because the leaves stay on the branches for a long time and do not fall off.

In order for the white lilac to blossom annually, it should give a good increase in a year. And this factor largely depends on how much the correct and delicate care is taken by the plant. First, it is necessary to closely monitor the condition of the soil layer, we need constant loosening, fertilization and weeding. Secondly, regular watering, which periodically adds a complex of mineral substances, stimulating the intensity of not only growth, but also flowering. Thirdly, it is extremely important to carry out preventive treatment of the bush against pests and diseases in time and (as required) to harvest the lilac beetle from the plant. For the winter, the white lilac is exposed to whitewashing at the bottom of the trunks. This is a necessary measure necessary to combat mice.

Important and proper pruning of the bush. It consists in the timely removal of already discolored inflorescences. It is impossible to allow a white lilac around the main bush to give abundant growths. Superfluous shoots are subject to mandatory removal. All other types of pruning, including decorative, produce in exceptional cases, if the state of health or aesthetic appearance of the plant requires it. For example, if the tree is overgrown and completely lost its shape, then in the early autumn, around mid-September, the old elongated branches, including those that are directed inside the crown itself, are neatly trimmed. In this case, the plant is thinned in neglected places and gives it the desired shape.

The same pruning can be done to rejuvenate old shrubs. But only in this case pruning is done more briefly, not paying attention to the thickness of the branches. Superfluous shoots are cut out, and what they leave, give the right direction of growth. Places slices of large branches are covered with garden fume. After such pruning, the white lilac abundantly blooms for the second year, however, at first it is not so abundant, but in subsequent years it is compensated with interest.
