Furniture loops: installation, adjustment, varieties

In furniture manufacture a lot of various fixing fittings are used, which is an integral part of the manufactured products. It affects the characteristics of furniture, such as functionality, durability, strength. The fastening hardware includes various types of loops designed for fastening, fixing and functioning of facades.

What is a furniture loop

Furniture loops are universal mechanisms that allow you to install doors in different positions and planes. They can be brass or made of sheet steel by stamping.

There are several types of furniture loops. They differ in design, purpose, type of attachment and appearance. The most common in furniture production are four-hinge hinges, which have a high safety factor, an unlimited number of working cycles, the possibility of three-plane adjustment.

Elements of furniture loops

There is a loop of such basic elements:

  • a cup;
  • shoulder;
  • Counterplate (mounting platform).

A cup is an element having a rounded shape, located in a blind hole on the inside of the door. Most loops are produced with a diameter of 35 mm, but there are also smaller sizes. Installation of furniture loops 26 mm diameter is provided in small facades, or made of glass. Cup designed for glass, made of plastic and has a sealing ring.

The shoulder is the lever that is attached to the inside of the case. It connects the cup to the counter plate by a four-hinged mechanism.

The mounting platform serves to fasten the loop to the wall of the product. Using a special bolt, which is located in the lid, adjusts the facade. The installation of the counter plate of the furniture loops from the inside of the side wall of the product using self-tapping screws is made.

Types of loops

Four hinge hinges, depending on the method of applying the facade to the frame of the product, are divided into:

  • Invoices;
  • Semi-waybills;
  • Angular;
  • Trial;
  • Internal;
  • Iversnye.

In the manufacture of cabinets, bedside tables and other hull products, four-hinged overhead furniture loops are used. They can be installed independently or with a door closer. This type of hinged elements provides for the door to be placed on the ends of the box and attached to the side wall. It differs from other types of reliability and versatility.

Very often it is necessary to place the doors at an angle to the base. For these purposes, angular loops are used, which can be installed at an angle of 30º, 45º, 90º, 135º and 175º. If it is necessary to make a cabinet or other products in which two doors come at once on one side wall, semi-overlapping furniture loops are used. Installation of the hinge part of the door is carried out on the 1/2 end of the box body. For hanging the blind facades on the side racks, which are adjacent to the wall, use the loop loops. They are used to fasten the door to the false panels.

To put the sashes inside the case, use the internal furniture loops. Installation of the facade is carried out in such a way that its ends touch the inner walls of the niche. To prevent the door from falling into the box, stoppers should be used. Internal models look like semi-overlapping. They can also be used to fix two doors on one side of the product. The difference is that the internal ones have a large bend of the base. Iversnye hinges allow the door to open 180º. In this case, the leaf in the open state forms a straight line with the plane of the base wall.

Mounting Tools

For the installation of all types of loops on furniture, the following tools are required:

  • pencil;
  • A building square;
  • drill;
  • Screws 3,5х16 mm;
  • Cutters with a diameter of 26 mm and 35 mm, depending on the size of the hinge.

Installation of furniture loops

To properly attach furniture loops, their installation begins with the marking. For this, the pencil marks the center of each future hole. The central distance from the facade ends, depending on the height of the doors and the location of their fastening, can be 80-130 mm. The layout should be carried out in such a way that when the facade is installed, the hinges do not come in contact with shelves, bridges and other elements. The number of hinges for securing the doors is determined according to their width and weight. The distance of the center of the hole from the end of the facade depends on the thickness of the door and can be 21-22 mm.

Virtually all models of loops have a 12-13 mm hole depth. For drilling, in order to avoid milling cuttings and chips, only a well sharpened cutting tool is used. The drill must be kept strictly vertical. This will ensure the uniformity of the depth of the hole and the absence of chips. There are furniture loops, the installation of which does not require drilling. These models are designed for glass facades with or without an aluminum frame, as well as some types of overhead loops.

After the marking and reaming of the holes have been completed, a loop is installed. To do this, it is inserted into the groove, aligned. Then, a punch or an awl is marked with a place for fastening elements, self-tapping screws are twisted. After the hinge is installed, the facade is ready for installation.

Adjustment

A furniture loop, the layout and installation of which has already been completed, requires adjustment. This procedure is performed by a tetrahedral screwdriver. The counter plate is fixed to the inner wall and pressed with a special bolt, by means of which the position of the door is adjusted deeper and closer. Another screw that rests against the mounting pad, adjusts the facade to the right and left. To adjust the doors up and down, you need to release the screws that secure the counterplate itself.

There are models of furniture loops of a different design, where adjustment is carried out in two planes. The facade is shifted up and down by a special bolt located in the bar.
