History of the theater

The Kursk Drama Theater was founded in 1792. Built thanks to the efforts of an enlightened man, art lover AA. Beklesheva (Governor-General). From 1982 to the present day the artistic director of the theater is Yury Valerievich Bure. Thanks to him, a new era began: the repertoire expanded, drama performances began to receive diplomas at contests and festivals; The troupe began to go on tour abroad: to Germany, Czechoslovakia and so on. At the festival in Hungary, the performance of the Kursk drama "Favorite" was awarded a diploma. In 1983, at the All-Union Social Competition among entertainment companies, the theater took 3rd place.

In 2004, Yuri Bure was awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor. Three actors of the theater received medals "For Services to the Fatherland" 2 degrees. In the early 2000s, the troupe was replenished with several young and talented artists.

In 2012, the theater celebrated its 220th anniversary. On the occasion of this event, a creative evening was organized. And then the theater went to the capital on tour, where he presented his performances to the Moscow audience on the stage of the famous Maly Theater.
