What is Trichomonas Vaginitis?

Trichomonas vaginitis - a disease of the genital organs, caused by a specific microorganism Trichomonas, able to move with the help of flagella.

This microorganism is dangerous because it can not cause clinical symptoms in one partner, but at the same time be pathogenic for another. The incubation period lasts from one day to a whole month. During this time, the microbe actively multiplies on the mucous of the genital organs, and then symptoms of the disease appear.

Trichomonas vaginitis is often supplemented by other infections of the genitals, resulting in a mixed infection, which is much more difficult to cure than usual.

Of course, no infection can pass without a trace. Even the runny nose leaves after itself consequences.

What is it that threatens trichomonas vaginitis in women?

To begin with, any pathological process of the reproductive system entails a malfunction of the menstrual cycle, which is very difficult to restore.

Sexual sphere of the woman against the background of the disease begins to fade. Sexual intercourse is painful, does not bring satisfaction.

Trichomonas vaginitis is accompanied by debilitating itching and a mass of unpleasant sensations, due to which the emotional state of the partner changes, she becomes nervous, irritable and quick-tempered.

Thus, this disease affects not only the patient, but also the people around her.

The microorganism can affect only the urinary system, but if the process remains untreated for a long time, then soon it seizes all the organs of the small pelvis.

Trichomonas can be located on the vulva, the inner surface of the labia, the vaginal wall and the uterus. In this case, trichomonas vulvovaginitis can often flow from acute to chronic, which is much more difficult.

The fine line between acute and chronic form is very difficult. It would be desirable only to advise patients with the slightest symptoms of the given disease at once to address to the doctor not to start process.

The symptoms of vaginitis are characteristic for all forms:

  • Strong, and sometimes unbearable itching of the vulva and vagina. Sometimes you can see scabs and crusts on the large labia, as a confirmation of the symptom;
  • Swelling and redness of the mucous membranes. Colpitis and urethritis are the most common symptoms of trichomonas infection. As a result, edema is difficult and painful, during sexual intercourse the woman feels burning and pain;
  • Abundant secretions of a foamy character, which can subsequently pass into abundant leucorrhoea;
  • Unpleasant sensations and pulling pain in the lower abdomen;
  • Violation of the menstrual cycle and the nature of menstruation.

All these symptoms indicate the presence of a microorganism in the flora of female genital organs. However, we should not forget about the asymptomatic carriage of the parasite.

The route of transmission Trichomonas is most often sexual, however this organism can get on the genitals when using general linen or a towel.

It was found that the trichomonas is transmitted through a medical toolkit, as well as during the passage of the child through the birth canal. In such a situation, congenital trichomoniasis is diagnosed.

The baby can get infected from the mother, while still in the womb, through the amniotic waters.

Detection of trichomonads in the oral cavity indicates the possibility of infection even with oral contact.

It should be noted that the parasite affects only the genitourinary system, and in other organs it does not cause symptoms and does not live for a long time.

Trichomonas is very sensitive to sunlight, and already at 45 degrees perishes. The body interacts very well with the gonococcus, while the process quickly chronizes and is difficult to treat.
