What are the colors of cats of the British breed

Now on the planet it is the British cats that are in the trend. Various colors of cats of this remarkable breed were repeatedly represented at various exhibitions. In the history of the existence of British pets, about two hundred subtypes have been officially bred, which differ from each other mainly in color. And also it is worth noting that among the British favorites there is still a whole variety of colors that have not been recognized as official for one reason or another.

It is generally believed that the original shade of the fur of a British cat is solid light. And in order to bring out such a diverse "palette" for the representatives of this breed, a lot of efforts were made, in particular, the pigments eumelanin and pheomelanin were found. These substances are able to impart a grayish or brownish hue to the wool. Therefore, the colors of British cats are divided into two types - cold (with gray or black stripes) and warm (cats pastel and brown colors).

The most expensive and valuable colors of British cats are solid. Most often a wool coat that does not have overflows and color transitions, belongs to a warm color scheme. It can be a cat of light beige color, brown and so on. Also, the solid color can be completely white, and in such cases the cat may have blue eyes. It is also important to know that a substance that affects the color of the fur of a British pet is also affected by eye color. Therefore, a British woman, in whose body this element is absent, can have a very light and "transparent" color-type.

Often, in order to color cats acquired some zest, two main pigments are mixed.

As a result, excellent tortoiseshell and chinchilla varieties are obtained, which are very popular among the world's population.

In their "fur coat" there are warm tones and cold colors that perfectly match each other and form a beautiful pattern. And as a result of the synthesis of the two opposite pigments, the cat can get not only variegated hair, but also different eyes, for example, one will remain blue, and the second will acquire a yellowish shade.

There are also silvery smoky colors of British cats. Photos of these pets are most often presented on the sites of fans of this breed. Such pets have long hair, and their color is always solid. Wool can be either grayish or pastel or even slightly reddish. However, the peculiarity of this color lies in the fact that each cat's wool on its root practically does not have a coloring pigment, but its tip is characterized by a very bright tone. This makes the cat's fur more bulky and beautiful. Most often Smoky Britons are larger than their short-haired brethren and are distinguished by their higher paws.

In the world there are a variety of color cats of the British breed, and many of them, if desired, can be withdrawn independently. They look always prestigious and at the same time natural and, thanks to their complaisant nature, become loved and necessary in every family and every home.
