How to make MicroSIM your own hands
Such a evolution of the SIM in MicroSIM in many people who are not very familiar with mobile technology raises an alarm and a lot of questions: will the phone work correctly, where can I buy such SIM cards, how much will it cost? All these fears are completely groundless: the new MicroSIM-card differs from the usual Simka only in size. Moreover, you can make MicroSIM yourself, for this you need only a little patience, ruler, pen and sharp scissors.
Any SIM-card consists of two parts: a chip with contacts, where all our information (phone numbers, messages, call history) is stored, and a plastic casing whose shape and size fit the telephone jack, which ensures the correct connection. If MiniSIM plastic shell took up a lot of space, then in the updated SIM they sacrificed it for the sake of increasing the functionality of the phone. The idea and its implementation turned out to be so good that the manufacturers of mobile communicators decided to make the micro-sim a new standard for their devices. They are convinced: users will like the innovation.
So, how to make MicroSIM yourself? Armed with the already mentioned tools, we will start marking. The necessary sizes and even templates are easy to find on the Internet. For reference: the size of MicroSIM is 15 x 12 mm, the right angle is cut at 45 °, the allowance on both sides is 2.5 mm. Now take the sharp scissors (the ideal tool for such an operation - the cutter for photos) and carefully cut along the lines, trying not to touch the body of the chip. After that, we insert MicroSIM into the smartphone and reboot it. Now everything should work. But! Make MicroSIM with your own hands will only work if your SIM card was not released before 2008. The fact is that with older SIM cards, the chip area is too large for such transformations.
In addition, in many salons of cellular communication when buying a smartphone with support for MicroSIM, the consultant offers the buyer to immediately cut off the old SIM card. Such a service costs about 150 rubles.
