Pomeranian black spitz. German Spitz Black

Black Spitz is a daring extrovert, a nice and devoted dog. These babies are intelligent, easy to train and very fond of pleasing their masters.

History of the breed

Today it's hard to imagine that this charming creature with a cute face, which is a black spitz, came from hardy and large northern dogs. But, most researchers of this breed believe that this is so - the ancestors of Pomeranian Spitz really lived in the territory of northern countries. For example, in Switzerland they lived in the Neolithic Age.

Some scholars believe that the historic homeland of Spitz can be such states as ancient China, and possibly, Egypt. They give as evidence their version of the image of dogs, similar to Spitz, which were found on objects of everyday life and culture of the peoples of these countries. However, the supporters of the version about the northern origin of the breed have a little more reliable arguments.

The Germans showed the greatest interest in Spitz in the Middle Ages. In the XV century, they already bred Spitz, which was first named "Spitzkhund." Their appearance was very similar to the modern representatives of the breed.

Work on the breed in Germany

It was held in different centers of medieval Germany and led to the fact that in the XVIII century was actually formed the breed, which quickly gained popularity. Some experts are sure that the cynologists of the German city of Württemberg played the most important role in the development of the Pomeranian Spitz breed, while others unconditionally give the palm of the primacy of Pomerania. In this city, not Germans, but Finns, were engaged in breeding such dogs. However, traditionally the creators of the Pomeranian spitz breed are considered dog breeders in Germany.

Later, the breed was divided into two varieties: the Pomeranian and the German Spitz, which are somewhat different in appearance. Unlike the "fox" of the orange, the German spitz is a "bear" with a round muzzle.

Pomeranian Black Pomeranian: Breed description

These babies belong to the dwarf species of Spitz. The Russian Federation approved a standard that was adopted by the international federation FCI. In America, there is a standard of its own, according to which the growth of the Spitz at the withers is 26 cm. The FCI standard allows these dogs to grow no more than 22 cm.

The case has a square format - the height is related to the length as 1: 1. The constitution is strong and dry, decorative elegance is combined with well-developed muscles.

Head small, muzzle short, tapering, slightly reminiscent of fox. The muzzle correlates with the skull as 2: 4.

Black Spitz has a black nose. Also painted and lips, closely adjacent to the jaws.

Eyes oblong in shape, obliquely set. The expression of the eyes is lively, which gives these charming kids a fervent look.

Ears triangular, standing, with a sharp top, are located quite close to each other.

The neck is strong, of medium length, covered with a thick collar resembling a mane.

Back strong, short and straight. It ends with a lush tail that covers part of the back. The tail is of medium length, covered with thick wool, set rather high and at the base it is turned up and forward - it is as if lying on its back, like a luxuriant fan.

Forelegs straight. The blades are long, pointing backwards. Shoulders muscular, tightly fitting to the chest. The forearms are straight and stocky, with pubescence down.

Paws well assembled, small, round in shape. Paw pads are black. The exception is only animals with a brown color - they have brown color.

The hind legs are more massive, the legs and thighs are approximately the same in length. They are parallel and direct. Up to the hock joint are covered with wool.

Wool

German Spitz (black), as well as Pomeranian, has a luxurious fur coat. His hair consists of two types of hair: a covering long hair and a thick, like cotton wool undercoat. On the head and ears, as well as on the front paws, the hair is short. On the shoulders and neck is a fluffy and fluffy collar. On the hind legs - voluminous pants.

Coloring

Despite the fact that the topic of our article is the Pomeranian Black Pomeranian, we will briefly dwell on what other colors these animals have.

White color means that the animal's fur is absolutely white, without any shades of other colors. All deviations are recognized as marriages.

Pomeranian black must have a varnish-black coat, without marks of a different color. Any inclusions are a disqualifying factor for experts. Black puppies can have a brownish undercoat at birth. If the genus of the black dog had ancestors of a different color, then it is likely that a puppy born in black will change color after moulting.

The brown spitz should have a wool that is evenly colored in a dark brown color. The darker it is, the better.

Black and Tan Spitz has distinct marks. They can be of different colors. For example, the red markings on the front of the chest, throat, on the paws let you say that before you is a black-red pomeranian. The saturation of the marks can range from cream to reddish-red. Black-taned pomeranian can have pale marks.

Character

German Spitz Black is a charming animal with a friendly character. Tender and defenseless, this doggie only seems to be in the shower he is brave and craves exploits and adventures. Therefore, it should not be considered a sofa dog. Black Spitz will not lie on the couch all day long. He needs walks with his beloved master.

However, at home the pygmy spitz is black and playful and active. A special pleasure this kid gets when he hears the command of the owner "aport". At the same instant, he rushes behind a stick or toy.

Pygmy black spitz is not so good as it seems at first glance - he is incredulous to strangers and is unlikely to allow them to stroke a beautiful silk. Undoubtedly, this is not a service dog, but sometimes it behaves as if it does not understand that its size is not allowed to rush into the attack.

Why does the Spitz bark a lot?

Often the owners talk about the propensity of these animals to bark. You should know that barking your pet is not causeless, it makes sense, like a small child's cry, and the master's task is to understand what the pet "says" about.

What kind of Spitz do you need a master?

Most dog breeders are sure that the black spitz is the ideal companion for any person. This is not true. Spitz needs a lot of exercise. This is a long (not less than 1.5 hours) walks, as well as active games. If long walks are not possible for you, prepare to ensure that the baby will be active at home. Running, frolicking and jumping is always ready. Therefore, the Spitz is unlikely to become a good companion for an elderly and not very healthy person.

Negative character traits

Black Spitz has some not very good character traits. They include stubbornness and self-will. Therefore, despite the high level of intelligence, they are not always easy to learn. They are especially negative about static commands, which are related to the state of rest: "Lie! Sit!"

In addition, they tend to dominate other animals. Do not be surprised if your little Spitz thinks about subordinating a huge sheep dog to his will. Probably, the long attention to this breed of royal persons played a certain role.

Spitz prefers to always be in the spotlight. To avoid this, early socialization is necessary. If at the time of the appearance of the puppy in the house there already live other pets, then there will be no problems. But if you decide to have another pet and bring it to a grown spitz, then most likely your baby will show character and will violate in every way the legal rights of the new tenant. The same can be said about the attitude towards children: Spitz loves them, they are ready to play with them day and night, but only when they are familiar with them from puppyhood.

But do not be afraid of these behavioral difficulties. They are completely compensated by the ability of this fluffy baby to give joy and love to the master. These little fidgets are very attached to a person and tend to always be near him. They are very sad when they are left alone at home. But when the owner returns, the Spitz compensates for his loneliness with increased attention.

He will follow you on his heels, sit at your feet, when you prepare food, watch TV very carefully, sitting comfortably on your hands, and even lie down at the owner's bed. Everyone who wants to have such a baby, you need to know that this is a true friend who will always strive to take part in all your affairs.

Where to buy a puppy?

It should be understood that no self-respecting breeder will sell puppies in the poultry market or bus stop. Puppies that are sold this way can be overbought without documents, and the puppy's cards will most likely not be genuine. In this case, no one will give you any guarantees that the puppies were examined by a veterinarian, treated with preparations from helminths and received the vaccinations necessary for their age. Also, there is no guarantee that the puppy belongs to this breed, and not just looks very much like a Spitz.

Therefore, if you want a thoroughbred dwarf dog (black) to appear, contact the club, a specialized nursery or a well-known breeder. In this case, you will acquire a healthy animal.

Black Spitz: price

The cost of these dogs depends on many factors. Puppies from elite parents, especially from male champions brought from Germany, cost from 60 to 150 thousand rubles. Babies with a more modest pedigree will cost you around 50 thousand rubles. Bitches, as a rule, are somewhat more expensive than males. Without documents the puppy costs about 15 thousand rubles.
