History of the breed

Some scholars believe that the historic homeland of Spitz can be such states as ancient China, and possibly, Egypt. However, the supporters of the version about the northern origin of the breed have a little more reliable arguments.

The Germans showed the greatest interest in Spitz in the Middle Ages. In the XV century, they already bred Spitz, which was first named "Spitzkhund." Their appearance was very similar to the modern representatives of the breed.

Work on the breed in Germany

It was held in different centers of medieval Germany and led to the fact that in the XVIII century was actually formed the breed, which quickly gained popularity.
