Non-Food Products: Highlights of Trade

Shops selling non-food products use three main schemes of the technological process for sale. All of them are used under different conditions and include different stages.

Technological processes. Description

According to the first scheme, non-food products are taken directly from the site to the trading floor. This process is typical for sale with the use of packaging equipment. To implement such a scheme, two rooms should be provided: a hall for acceptance and for leave. The second type of technological process of sale includes three stages. In this case, between the acceptance and release of products, an operation is performed to store it. The third scheme, according to which non-food products are sold, is considered the most difficult. It is applied in the case when the products require preliminary refinement before distribution on the trading floor. For example, non-food items must be freed from the factory packaging, cleaned, and given a form suitable for sale. As a rule, all three schemes are used in shops.

The process of trade. Essential elements

Serving as customers is an integral part of any trading process . When considering the elements, it is necessary to identify the main and auxiliary ones. The first category includes the supply of products, consulting clients, the operation on direct leave (for this there is such a position as a seller of non-food products), as well as a cash settlement operation. Auxiliary elements include acceptance of products, placement and sorting in the warehouse, preparation of products, service areas and jobs, internal transportation. Acceptance and storage of products are considered to be the most significant stages of the technological process. After or before entering the store, examination of non-food items may be carried out (for a number of categories defined by standards). Failure to comply with the established rules, improper registration of product reception can lead to difficulties in the presentation of claims to the transport organization or supplier when delivering substandard products or short delivery.

Acceptance and storage. Main criteria

Non-food items in the centralized delivery are taken directly from the shops. This process is carried out by materially responsible employees in quality and quantity in accordance with the accompanying documentation. In the absence of a consignment note, invoice, inventory, packing labels acceptance is carried out according to the act, where the actual availability of products is indicated. The same document notes the absence of accompanying papers. For certain types of non-food products, special delivery conditions, standards, transportation and packaging standards, etc. are established. Storage of products in the store is characterized by a brief presence in the trading premises. This, in turn, contributes to a faster update of the assortment.
