Victoria Komova - young Russian gymnast

Russia is rich in sports talents. This is confirmed by the results of the majority of the Olympic Games. I'm glad that in our country young athletes are becoming more and more every year. This suggests that young people are striving for success and health, and devotes their youth not to street and drugs, but to great sport. Viktoria Komova deserves special respect among young athletes of our country (photo). This young gymnast has already managed to conquer the world with her talent.

Family of young athletes

Komova Viktoria Alexandrovna was born in Voronezh (in 1995, January 30) in a gymnastic family. Alexander Komov - the girl's father - was awarded the title of master of sports in gymnastics, Kolesnikova Vera - mother of Victoria - world champion in the team championship (Canada, Montreal, 1985). Vika can also be proud of the fact that her mother holds the title of Honored Master of Sports in artistic gymnastics and is the winner of the Goodwill Games in 1986. Victoria has an older brother, Sasha, who also took part in gymnastics as a child, but did not begin to build a career as an athlete.

The beginning of sports career

The first five-year Vika gymnastics lessons were given by her mother. And when the girl turned seven, she led her to a serious training in the SDUSShOR named after Shtukman Yuri. Vika worked with outstanding coaches - Olga Mitrofanovna Bulgakova and Gennady Borisovich Elfimov, who are her mentors to this day. They already saw in the girl a great athlete, and they were not mistaken. By the age of sixteen, Victoria Komova had become one of the most titled gymnasts in Russia in the 21st century. Parents are rightfully proud of their talented daughter!

Debut

For the first time gymnast Victoria Komova performed at the Voronin Cup, which took place in 2007. Then she confidently won the free gymnastic exercises and in the base jump. The following year, Victoria Komova won bronze in America at the WOGA Classic-2008. A little later, she visited France, where she fought in the Russian national team for the Massilia Cup. In the same 2008, Victoria showed the best result in the base jump and free exercises in the Voronin Cup.

Rapid career

Vika always differed from her peers. From the very beginning of sports she wanted to plunge into the atmosphere of the present Olympic Games, to see other athletes from different countries of the world. Victoria Komova, her rivals in the arena, first saw in Finland, in the city of Tampere, in 2009 - at the European Youth Olympic Festival. And immediately wiped them their nose, beating in the all-around. In the same year, Victoria Komova won the Junior International Cup of Japan. Finished 2009 the young sportswoman another victory at the already become native Cup of Mikhail Voronin.

Top of glory

Even more rapidly the career of a young gymnast went up in the following year, 2010. Success waited for Victoria in the Russian Championship, then she showed unprecedented results in the women's team at the European Championships in Birmingham, winning the gold medal in the all-around. So successfully ended her performance on the balance beam and a leap. Together with colleagues Anastasia Sidorova, Maria Paseka, Violet Malikova and Anastasia Grishina, Viktoria Komova also celebrated the victory in the team championship. In the exercises on the uneven bars, Vika was the second, giving priority to her friend Grishina Anastasia. Grandiose success at the European Championships allowed the young gymnast to participate in the First Summer Youth Olympic Games.

The Youth Olympic Games in Singapore brought Victoria Komova the title of undisputed champion - she won gold in the all-around, on the uneven bars and in the base jump! Unfortunately, fatigue and huge competition did not allow the young gymnast to win also in floor exercises - she finished third. Coach Victoria Elfimov Gennady explains this result also by the fact that on the last day of the competition his team was pretty tormented by doping procedures, which made the athlete tired even before the competitions began.

Sports season 2011

In October 2011 Victoria Komova, gymnastics for which has already become the meaning of life, first performed at the world championship in the capital of Japan. The Russian team received silver in the team championship. Before participating in the final of the absolute championship, Vic was in the lead in all respects, but during the decisive match lost 0.033 points to the American athlete Jordin Weber. In Tokyo, the Russian gymnast became the world champion in the exercises on the balance beam.

In April 2011 Victoria Komova became a master of sports of the Russian Federation of international class.

Injuries

In 2010, Viktoria Komova at one of the speeches suffered an ankle injury. After completing the rehabilitation course, the athlete went to the Russian Championship, where she again injured her leg. The trainers decided to send Vika to Germany for examination, where she had an arthroscopic operation. For the first time after recovering, Victoria performed at the Cup of Russia, where she won the exercises on logs and beams, and also received silver in the base jump and free exercises.

In 2013, the gymnast suffered fairly from health problems. For a long time she suffered from back pain, which was caused by heavy loads during the period of active growth. Victoria Komova was also treated for viral meningitis, which came from somewhere. The last year for the athlete ended with an ankle injury (the same leg (right) suffered as in 2010).

Despite all the obstacles and health problems, on January 18, 2014 Victoria ran across Leninsky Avenue with an Olympic torch in her hand. And no one guessed that by doing every new step, Vika struggled with the pain, because she had been cast off just one day before, on January 17, and she had not yet fully recovered.

Free time

The young sports talent of the country devotes its free time to drawing and embroidery. Also Vika loves her Shih Tzu puppy named Kutya, who was presented to her after participating in the European Championships in 2010. With him, she spends most of her leisure time.
