Vasil Bykov is a crane song for the Belarusian people

In the center of Europe is a small, but very picturesque country - Belarus. This republic is known to its neighbors as a "bulbashow" state (in translation from the melodious and beautiful language of this nation bulba is a potato that is considered a national dish). In addition, throughout Europe there is hardly another country where throughout its existence leadership is carried out by one person permanently. Since the formation of the independent state, Belarus has been ruled by the irreplaceable leader A. G. Lukashenko.

A miniature country can also be proud of its cultural figures. Marc Chagall, Vasil Bykov, Zdislav Stomma, Vladimir Korotkevich, Neil Gilevich, Ivan Shamyakin and many others - these people deserve a corner of memory in the heart of every Belarusian. Their work was not a momentary trend of fashion, as it happens at the time, they created with the soul, and each of them put in his work everything, without remnants and hesitations.

A great influence on all military literature was produced by the prose of such a magnificent author as Vasil Bykov. Surprisingly, I, as a Belarusian and a lover of quality literature, never forget the weight in the hands of copies of books by this author. Tears, pain and trembling of hands when turning pages - not all the feelings that I happened to experience, burying another hero in paperback.

One might think that Vasil Bykov deliberately created tragedies - no. Absolutely not so. He wanted to tell his readers the whole truth about the war, whatever it was - heavy, black, deadly and blood-smelling, but still it's true. The writer wanted to convey to every reader the pain of loss and the joy of the meetings experienced by ordinary citizens of Belarus and the entire Soviet Union who faced a terrible "beast" with the short name "war".

A huge number of stories, described in the books of the Belarusian playwright, is based on real events. Gathering information bit by bit, recording the memories of war participants and remembering vividly his war years, Vasil Bykov gave the world masterpieces, each of which was truly unique. "Obelisk", "Love Me, Soldier", "Crane Scream", "Alpine Ballad", "Badge of Trouble", "Wolf Pack" and many others are not just regular books that make Belarusian schoolchildren read in literature classes - it's Part of the story, this is a huge handbook on how to survive and how to survive.

Courage and honor, valor and uncharted inner strength, kindness and gentleness, a crystal-clear heart, open to faith, hope and love - these are the characteristics that are inherent in the positive heroes of virtually every novelist work. However, at the same time, Bykov Vasily Vladimirovich pays a great deal of attention to negative characters, their motivation, characterization of actions and description of their inner world. It shows how a person, depending on changing habitual conditions, can change his behavior. Who, like a chameleon, adapts to new, sometimes horrible, conditions, and who does everything possible to change them. Sometimes a writer twists the storyline in such a way that it is not so easy to get to the truth. A good character who has become bad, and bad, who has gone over to the side of goodness - such lines take place in many novels by Vasil Bykov.

This is an author, which can not be said a little. This is a Man with a capital letter. He was not afraid to show all the dirt and pain through which people passed, in the eyes of which the fire of war flared with a scarlet flame. This is a writer who is no longer there. This - Vasil Bykov, whose biography, like many of his works, is imbued with sad notes of military events. Great bow to him and many thanks for his work!
