Science confirms: the more intelligent people, the more they are distracted from work

Torn between e-mail, social networks, several tabbed browsers, talking with colleagues and thinking about what to cook for dinner, you sometimes struggle to concentrate on work. However, according to the latest scientific studies, the reason why you find it so hard to concentrate is not so negative.

What is so distracting?

You are often distracted by various external and internal stimuli, because you are smart. And the more intelligent people, the harder it is for them to remain focused on one lesson.

A recent study, which involves observing the habits of tens of thousands of workers from seventeen countries of the world, has shown that the higher the level of your intelligence, the easier you get distracted.

These results are relatively easy to explain. The more intelligent you are, the more you are interested, the more curious and informative, the more ideas arise in your head. It is difficult for intelligent people to prioritize the stream of thoughts that sweep through their heads with great speed. It's like a lot of bulbs lighting up in a big dark room: the bigger the room and the more light bulbs go on, the harder it is to consider and turn off (or leave it on) each one. It remains either to be distracted, or to get angry and upset. And if you take into account that the modern workspace is just created to distract - phones, computers, tablets, calls, negotiations, sound signals about received messages - how can you stay focused?

Therefore, when the next time you digress from work, draw the following conclusion - this is because you are really smart!
