Sports shooting has long been included in the program of the Olympic Games. However, it can be different. In addition, there are different standards for different weapons. Let's try to understand the varieties and features of this sport.

What is "sports shooting"?

This is the Olympic kind of trials of participants for accuracy. That is, each athlete shows the level of possession of weapons (gunshot or pneumatic), as well as their skills. Such shooting has its own norms and estimates, according to which the best participant is determined.

Naturally, it requires regular training. The place of their holding depends on the type of shooting: indoors or outdoors. In addition, during training, you must strictly follow all safety rules so as not to injure yourself or others.

Varieties of the presented sport

Features of bullet shooting

In this case, the participant uses rifled firearms and pneumatic weapons. The athlete must get as accurately as possible in all the targets given to him. And they can be static or move. It should also be noted that shooting bullet has a clear algorithm of action, which remains stable for everyone, regardless of experience.

Shooting bullet requires a certain fixed position during the shot. The main thing for an athlete is to feel his weapon well. Only in this case he will be able to hit the target exactly. Also, the shooter must have a good reaction and be careful.

All the necessary qualities must be developed equally well, since the absence of one of them can significantly affect the result. During the shot, a person should be completely grouped and carried away by his own business. It should also be said that people with stable psyche should be engaged in this kind of sport. That is, a person should not be distracted by extraneous stimuli.

Features of pistol shooting

Now let's see in more detail how to use the weapon. Sport shooting from a pistol is made of weapons, the caliber of which is 7.62-9.65 mm. Thus it can be pneumatic. Often used small-caliber and large-caliber (revolver) weapons.

From the pistol, the competitor can only shoot on static targets. At the same time, he remains in one position: standing, with his arm extended outwards. The gun can be standard, pneumatic or arbitrary. And they can shoot both women and men. The distance to the target can be from 10 to 50 meters. Each participant must commit from 20 shots and more. In this case, each round lasts a certain amount of time.

Features of shooting from a rifle

Here everything is a bit more complicated. The fact is that sports shooting from a rifle provides for several positions from which a shot is fired. In this case, the distance to the target is from 10 to 300 m. Most often in this form of shooting stationary targets are used, which do not move.

As for the provisions of the participant, there are several of them:

- Standing. In this case, the rifle is held with both hands. The main emphasis is on the shoulder and part of the chest. The belt on which the weapon usually hangs, in this case it is not necessary. In addition, the shooter should never use lenses or optical sights.

- From the knee. Here, too, the rifle is held with both hands. At the same time one elbow rests on the knee.

- Lying down. In this case, the main emphasis is on the elbows. And the athlete uses a special rug. This posture is the most comfortable and stable.

Naturally, during the shooting the participant should be focused, purposeful and attentive. The closer he gets to the center of the target, the higher the score will work.

What is bench shooting and what are its types?

Its main feature is that it is conducted in the open area. In this case, the target does not stand still, but moves and has an unusual shape of the plate. As a weapon, the rifle is most often used. It is charged with a shot cartridge.

Shooting bullet provides several types of stands:

- Round. Its peculiarity is that a participant can feel like a real hunter. The stand is a small round platform, on which there are 7 shooting places. Near the first and the seventh there are two turrets, on which there are cars, throwing targets. A feature of this shooting is that the competitor must gradually move from the 1st to the 7th position. At the same time, he must hit 25 targets.

- Trench. Such a platform has a large width and length. There are throwing cars and a place for the judge. In this case, the positions for shooting are located in a semicircle on one line. It should also be noted that it is advisable to use such a stand only if the throwing machines are not less than 15 pieces.

- Double-ladder. A feature of this stand is that the competitor must shoot down two targets that are flown from the machine at the same time.

- Sporting. This type of bench shooting is distinguished by different trajectories of the flight of plates, unequal distances. In addition, you can additionally aim at targets that are moving on the ground. Therefore this type of shooting is the most difficult.

Features of the target for bench shooting

It is a small dish with a diameter that is made of natural materials: limestone powder and pitch melt. It has a bright orange color, so that it can be seen on the street. In addition, you can check how good the target is. To do this, just hit it with a small metal rod. If the plate rings, then everything is in order.

Targets for bench shooting have a small mass, which should not exceed 105 g. It should be noted that in the final competitions special plates covered with luminous powder (fluorescent) are used. The thing is that in this case shooting becomes very beautiful and spectacular.

A quality target must fly out of the machine of the whole. The diameter of the plate should not exceed 11 cm. It must be said that one target is used only once. It does not matter if the shooter hit it. In competitions the participant gives a command, after which the plate leaves the machine. Further - the matter of technique and skill.

Types of targets for bullet shooting

Now you need to figure out what to aim for if you use a rifle or a pistol. The target for shooting may be different:

- Electronic. This type of product is only used in high-level competitions: championships, the Olympic Games. In this case, the target itself does not penetrate right through. The quality and position of the hole is determined acoustically or optically. Sometimes both methods are used simultaneously.

- Printed. This type of target is the most common. It is used during training. A similar target is made of strong material, on which there remains a clear hole. Naturally, after training, such a product is no longer suitable for use.

- Mechanical. This type of targets is used both in training and in competitions.

Features of firing in a dash

Weapons have never been a safe product, even if you do not use live ammunition. Shooting at a dash is a special process. Here you must be as cautious as possible, since you are in an enclosed space. Its dignity is that you can not be distracted by extraneous stimuli, because in the dash all conditions for quiet shooting are created.

However, during training, you must be calm and balanced. In addition, all shots are produced under the supervision of a more experienced person. In this case, in no case be in the zone where the targets are hanging. In addition, it is not permitted to direct weapons to people or to any other side of the target. The weapons you took are not transferable to anyone.

After the shooting ends, you need to carefully check the weapon for the presence of cartridges in the store and the trunk. Recharge is performed only on the firing line. After training, the weapon is handed over to the instructor or the person responsible for it.
