Pain when urinating in women

Pain during urination in women and other unpleasant sensations are the most frequent symptoms of diseases related to the genitourinary system. These include a variety of inflammatory processes, infections that are transmitted by sexual routes and, in addition, urolithiasis.

Often the pain in the abdomen with urination is accompanied by other disorders of the process of urination, for example, an increase in the amount of urine, frequent urges or the need to visit the toilet at night. Such a symptom is characteristic of violation of innervation and inflammation of the bladder. Simply put, this is a sign of the development of cystitis, the consequences of which can be very serious. Therefore, one should not stifle pain by taking medication or simply ignoring pain. In such cases, you need to immediately consult a doctor to find out the causes of pain in the abdomen with urination and undergo a course of treatment.

Most often, cystitis occurs in women, and this fact is explained by the peculiarities of the structure of their body. Urinary tracts of women are somewhat wider and shorter than men's, so the pathogens fall more quickly into the bladder. With such inflammations in women, it hurts after urinating in the lower abdomen, or around the genitals, and sometimes it is strange that your bladder is not completely emptied. In addition, urine becomes turbid, occasionally even with a trace of blood. The most common pain is with urination in women in the position and in girls. In the first case, this is due to a decrease in the protective abilities of the organism due to hormonal rearrangements, and in the second - to the fact that secret activity in the ovaries has not yet begun, and also the mechanisms of immunity are poorly developed.

In addition to cystitis, pain during urination in women can be observed with such diseases as prostatitis, urethritis, as well as in some gynecological diseases. Basically, it manifests as a burning sensation in the urethra. If the pain occurs at the beginning of urination, then their cause is most likely inflammatory processes in the urethra, often caused by a conditionally pathogenic microflora. And this phenomenon, in turn, occurs after hypothermia, a decrease in the protective functions of the organism or after the exchange of microorganisms between partners during a sexual act that proceeds without protective means.

As already mentioned, pain during urination in women can be accompanied by the need to get up at night to defecate, and sometimes this process is observed only at this time. This symptom indicates a more complicated form of the disease. Among other things, such signs indicate the presence of pathologies in the rectum and uterus.

Burning and pain when urinating in women are a serious reason to consult a doctor, and this also applies to men. The specialist will prescribe the delivery of tests and only then will be able to more accurately determine the cause of the unpleasant sensations, and then, respectively, to prescribe the necessary course of treatment. Here it should be noted that in some cases, treatment is assigned not only to the sick person, but also to his / her partner. Since infectious diseases, cured only in one of them, will arise again if the second partner does not undergo a course of treatment.

If these symptoms are ignored, the disease will progress, and the treatment of the disease in a sufficiently developed form always takes longer and more difficult. In this case, complications are very likely, which sometimes lead to serious consequences. If a visit to a doctor is planned, then it is forbidden to drink alcohol and drinks with caffeine, nor should you consume a large amount of sweet. It is also recommended before the visit to the doctor not to engage in sexual intercourse, or to use contraceptives.
