John Jameson, or the Wolfman

John Jameson is a fictional character in the Marvel universe, fortunately or unfortunately, with the ability to turn into a wolf. He is one of NASA's youngest astronauts, and is also considered an ally of Spider-Man. Although he often fought with him, being in the shape of an animal. But his story begins a little earlier, because he was not always so shaggy.

Family ties

Probably, many remember the ever-dissatisfied Jay John Jameson, editor of the popular New York newspaper Daily Bugle, in which Peter Parker works. He began with an ordinary reporter. Having worked in the press for several years, Jay, at last, headed his own publishing house. For his development, he put a lot of effort, in principle, like his reporters, from whom he demanded full return and forced to find information in any way. But it was just a working mask.

In fact, many people know him as a kind and sympathetic person, ready to support at any moment. Therefore, they forgive him frequent outbursts of anger. His main goal was always Spider-Man. Jay did not consider him a hero, but he constantly demanded from his employees materials with his participation, because it brought a huge profit to the publisher. And the editor was ready to spend huge sums of money. But at one point he will have to rethink his attitude towards the superhero. And his son, John Jameson - the character of the Marvel universe, known as the Wolf Man, has caused this.

Character History

Even before the transformation, Jameson explored outer space, working as an astronaut at NASA. He immediately somehow did not ask, and already at his first task, the guy almost died, being in a faulty capsule, which later went off the orbit. It was lucky that the Spider-Man was next to him, who managed to fix the module, so the capsule landed in the sea.

But for John Jameson's father, it was not a feat. He decided that this was a well-planned trick, which only emphasized the helplessness of his son. Therefore, from that time on, his attitude towards the hero shifted even more in the negative direction.

Infection

During his next space flight, John Jameson (Wolfman) is again in a dangerous situation. Being exposed to an unknown virus, it acquires inhuman force. Scientists from NASA decided to study the virus, and, so that the guy did not have time to lose his strength, developed for him a special organic suit. But not only they were interested in his new abilities. He was also impatient to use them.

Once during the bank robbery, in which the Spider-Man was suspected, Jay persuades his son to confront the hero. He wanted to make a video to make him famous. The younger Jameson agrees to this, but the fight loses. And when it turns out that Spider-Man is not at all to blame, the father tries to stop his son. But it's easier said than done. He did not even suspect what John Jameson was experiencing at the time. Spiderman greatly offended him by winning, and he needed a rematch match. But the next time, luck turned from him. A strong discharge of electricity Spider-Man took power from him.

Transformation

Some time after the incident, Jameson is sent to the moon to perform a secret mission. Studying there the soil, he finds a strange stone of red color. He never met such unusual breeds, so he decided to take the find home. But soon the astronaut realizes that he is simply unable to do without a stone. Therefore, he makes an amulet out of it, and on it an engraving in the form of a wolf. Only by wearing it, on the first full moon turns into a wolf. But he hardly liked it.

He spends most of his time trying to find a way to control the transformation, John Jameson. Marvel is a fictional universe, rich in transformations, here heroes face unusual situations. And for a while John even begins to feel that he achieved success when a suit appears in the light that, in his opinion, does not miss the moonlight. But this is not so, and the transformation continues.

Soon his father will find out about this, because at first he did not believe that the Wolfman was his son. But, seeing on his neck a pendant, is convinced of this completely. Then, trying to help his son, he takes off his amulet, thinking that it will stop the cycle, but this also does not give the desired effect. And even when the Spider-Man threw a stone into the river, he only angered the beast, which without it did not feel warm feelings for him.

Ability and strength

Firstly, John Jameson works at NASA, and there he is described as an experienced pilot and an excellent astronaut. He began his training while serving in the army, when he passed special training for employees in the Air Force.

Secondly, in the same place in the service he successfully completed a course of physical training, so he has excellent skills in hand-to-hand combat.

Third, John Jameson is a werewolf, and therefore has the appropriate instincts, such as tracking down the target by smell or night vision. Also in the list you can make a high pain threshold and the ability to regenerate, heals even the most severe wounds.

Wolf man on TV and in the movie

While John Jameson did not get his own project, he has to be content with episodic roles in the animated series about Spider-Man. So the hero was shown in "Spider-man: Unlimited", where during the flight into space the guy, having suffered a wreck, is on an unfamiliar planet. And together with the Spider-Man he leads a detachment of rebels to restore peace to this planet.

There were also Wolf-Man episodes in "Spider-man: Exciting". There he played the Air Force Colonel and the shuttle pilot, but under the influence of poison he had to fight the Spider-Man.

There is even a film in which John Jameson flashed several times - "Spiderman 2" (the photo of the episode is above). The hero was played by Daniel Gillis. He was the bridegroom of Mary Jane. True, she realized that he was not very fond of him, so their wedding did not take place.
