Lighthouse for plaster - a guarantee of quality of a surface

When performing repairs, you will definitely have to evaluate the quality of walls, floors and ceilings. Sometimes you have to spend a lot of effort to eliminate existing irregularities and curvatures. To do this, use several different methods. The choice of a specific method for eliminating surface defects is determined by their size. If the unevenness of walls or ceilings is insignificant, not more than five centimeters, then it is quite possible to dispense with their plastering. A so-called beacon for plaster helps to perform such a qualitative operation.

This somewhat unusual name has a special profile that is attached to the wall. Fastening is performed in such a way that its upper edge forms an even plane. Orienting the lighthouse for the plaster, the surface is leveled. For this, the applied layer of the mixture is leveled using a special rule. The latter moves through established beacons. The result is a flat plane. After the plastering has been carried out, the beacons themselves are not removed. They are usually covered with a layer of plaster. Therefore, use only products made of galvanized steel.

With such organization of works, the fixing of lighthouses for plastering is of decisive importance. To perform this procedure, it is necessary to ensure the creation of a flat surface along the upper edge of the profile. To do this, it is leveled in a vertical and horizontal plane using a plumb and level.

The fixation of beacons can be carried out in several ways. They can be Fasten with self-tapping screws in pre-installed dowels with special clips or by using a quick-setting mortar based on gypsum. In this case, small "cakes" of the mixture are applied to the surface at a small distance from each other. In them, a beacon for plaster is pressed, the position of which is leveled by means of a level.

The installation step is fifty centimeters. This installation of beacons under the plaster allows them to be used as guides, by which, by moving the rule, it is possible to level the previously applied layer of plaster on the surface. It should be noted that although such a technology of surface preparation for plastering allows to obtain its high quality, the installation of beacons itself takes a long time and requires considerable experience.

In carrying out such work, the main attention should be paid to monitoring the position of the plane formed by the beacons against the wall. First, it should hide all the defects of the surface on which the plaster is applied (potholes, protrusions, curvature of the walls). Secondly, the layer of material applied to walls or ceilings should not be excessively large. In this case, there will be an additional consumption of the mixture and a decrease in the overall strength of the applied coating.

The beacon for plastering should be considered as one of the main elements of the stage of work related to the preparation of the surface for the finish coat. Correct installation of these elements allows you to get a high-quality surface, suitable for the subsequent execution of any kind of finish. In this case, it is possible to achieve savings in the plaster used for leveling the walls, and reduce the overall cost of work.
