Arbolite: manufacturing technology, composition, proportions, equipment, GOST

At the moment, modern materials, such as arbolitic blocks, are most often used in construction. They came to replace the standard brick or natural stone - shell rock. Arbolite, whose manufacturing technology can be varied, has excellent properties and certain technical characteristics.

What it is?

Arbolit is a modern building material. In the middle of the 20th century it became very popular. A big role in this was played by its cost and block size. It can replace several bricks by parameters. All this makes it possible to save money on building the structure.

It is a lightweight concrete. It does not create additional stress on the foundation of the building. It is worth considering the moment that the arbolite has a porous structure.

Tip: to ensure that such material has served a long period of time, it is necessary to perform its internal and external finishing in the shortest possible time.

What is included in the composition of the arbolite?

By its design, the material is fairly simple material arbolit. Composition, manufacturing technology is based on the application of:

  • Portland cement or sulphate cement;
  • Wood chips or shavings;
  • Chemical additives and special bonding elements;
  • Fluid in a certain proportion;
  • Cellulosic raw materials and mineral additives.

Varieties of materials from arbolita

There are two building materials from the arbolite:

  • Blocks;
  • Plates.

They have similar properties and characteristics. Differences are only in size and scope. For example, arbolitic blocks can be used in the construction of buildings and structures. But there are certain nuances. Professionals do not recommend building a structure of more than two floors from this material. This is due to the fact that the structure of the arbolite under the influence of its own weight can be deformed.

Arbolite slabs can be used in building insulation. They are mounted both inside the building and outside. They are an excellent insulating material with a rather small mass.

Advantages of arbolitic blocks and their dimensions

Material arbolit, manufacturing technology (GOST 19222-84) which implies not only compliance with a certain composition and structure of the building material, but also a complete coincidence with the parameters specified in the legislative document, allows to accelerate the construction time. The standard size of the arbolitic blocks is 25x25x50 cm. Thanks to this, it became possible to build buildings much faster.

Arbolite has certain characteristics:

  • Incombustible;
  • Practical in application;
  • ecologicaly clean;
  • Durable;
  • lasting;
  • Does not change its structure under the influence of sunlight;
  • Freely withstands low and high temperatures.

It is also worth noting that, due to its structure, the arbolite keeps the heat inside the structure well, can perfectly take curved forms, it is easily cut.

Advantages of arbolite boards

Arbolite slabs have the same technical characteristics and functionality as blocks. Available sizes:

  • 100х150 cm;
  • 100x125 cm;
  • 50x100 cm.

There may be other parameters for the individual production of the material.

Manufacturing technology

How to make arbolite? Manufacturing technology can be different. It all depends on the conditions in which the material is produced. You can make an arbolite:

  • At home;
  • at the factory.

It is important: when you manufacture the arbolite yourself, it is worth remembering that there are certain proportions of all the raw materials used. They must be observed in order to achieve high strength of the building material.

Factory production of arbolite

Manufacture of such building material is done only by professionals. Factory arbolit, manufacturing technology, the proportions of which differ in their technical characteristics and parameters from homemade, will be several times better.

It is important not only in theory to know what is the arbolite, the technology of manufacture and equipment for which are described in this article, but also to have practical knowledge in this field.

For work on the production of arbolitic blocks or slabs you will need:

  • Forms with certain sizes;
  • Correctly prepared composition;
  • Vibrating table;
  • Drying chamber.

Also in the factory production special lubricants are used, which help to pull out blocks or slabs from the mold without deformation. The drying time of the material depends on its composition and dimensions.

Self-made material

Material arbolit, the technology of manufacturing which by their own hands practically does not differ from the factory, is quite popular. Simply, some actions that are performed automatically on a batch basis will have to be done at home by yourself.

Quite simple is the independent manufacture of arbolite. The technology of manufacturing of this building material by its own means the use of:

  • Forms;
  • Composition;
  • Concrete mixers;
  • Tool.

Forms for arbolite should be made either from sheet metal or from wood.

Tip: it's best to make wooden forms at home, which are less expensive and more practical.

Inside, the form is covered with linoleum or a thick film. This will make it possible to make the parameters of the block or slab rectilinear. Above such materials, a lubricant is applied.

The composition, which will be poured into molds, is made in a concrete mixer.

Tip: Immediately all the ingredients of the solution should not be filled in the mixing tank. Clumps may form. It is best to add everything gradually.

After a quality kneading solution, you can pour it into molds. Do this with a bucket or other container. Evenly in the forms you can distribute the composition with a simple wooden stick. Such actions replace the work of the vibrating table. Then the forms with a solution are taken out on street or in a special premise which is intended for drying of a material. If the weather is fine, the arbolite can dry out in a few hours. And the average period, which helps the "arbolit" to "get stronger," is 24 hours.

Arbolitic blocks or slabs are then pulled out of the mold by tapping. They then need to lie down a bit to get used to the surrounding climate.

Tip: you can only use this material, which was made by yourself, in a few days.

General recommendations for manufacturing

Since such a material as arbolite, manufacturing technology can be different, it should immediately be determined not only with the parameters of the future material, but also with its composition. In no case should not you save on one or the other ingredient. All this will only negatively affect the strength and characteristics.

You can also consult with a specialist in the field of manufacturing of arbolite. He can suggest some nuances of production.
