Jasmine - a delicate and fragrant flower: tips for care

Jasmine - a flower of incredible beauty from the family of olive. His homeland is the tropics and subtropics of Africa, Asia and America. There are many species of this plant. It has lignified stems, feathery leaves and white flowers, collected in 5-6 (in some species more) pieces in an interesting racemose inflorescence. The flowers themselves are small - about 2.5 cm in diameter, in fact - they are very fragrant. Begin to bloom in adulthood.

Several of their species can be grown at home - indoor jasmine plants. They all grow according to the type of lianas, and the flowers are collected from them in the inflorescence. The most popular are plants with fragrant white flowers, however, not all of them bloom in this way. There are, for example, also with yellow flowers. The basic rules for successful, successful cultivation of these flowers are reduced to mandatory winter content in coolness, outdoor summer storage, tie to stems support and bright light, without possible drying of the soil. But you can go further.

Jasmine: flower room

Temperature: in summer, jasmine is kept at the most usual temperature. In winter, it should be kept at a temperature of about 8-10 ° C, well, at least 6 ° C. Kind Sambak contain in winter at temperatures 17-18 ° C, minimum - 16 ° C, but in no case higher than 22 ° C. If suddenly the temperature is higher, you need to maintain and the corresponding high humidity in the air.

Lighting: jasmine is very light-loving. To achieve good flowering and development, he needs still good lighting, with reliable protection from the hot direct rays of the sun. The flower grows well on the eastern windows without any shading.

Watering: In summer and spring abundant, the soil must necessarily be a little damp all the time. In winter, watering is better than moderate. The flower of jasmine does not tolerate the slightest drying out of its earthy coma, but excessive stagnation of water with the roots themselves should also be avoided. Prepared water for irrigation should be a bit tepid and necessarily soft. Better, of course, to use filtered, boiled or rainy.

Conducting fertilizing should be done during a period of rapid active growth, which falls on spring-summer (April-August), once a week. This should be done with liquid fertilizer for specially flowering pot rooms (potash fertilizers).

Humidity of air: It is important in the summer to regularly spray jasmine with soft water.

Transplantation: Transplanted in the spring, in March. If the plants are still young, they are transplanted annually, and when old, it is usually 2-3 grams. Soil is: 1 hour clay-turf, 1 hour leaf and 1 part sand - this is for young plants. And for old - clay-turf ground is used in 2 hours.

Reproduction: Cuttings in summer and early spring, and also with cuttings. On cuttings to take better lateral one-year shoots, because the plants obtained from them, will begin to bloom earlier. Cuttings with slightly lignified stems take root in late summer. It is desirable, of course, to conduct rooting with good soil heating. Jasmine cuttings take root in moist soil or water, while closing the stalk with a jar with a dense plastic bag.

Garden jasmine

This flower, as is known, was obtained in France from the supply of the famous firm Lemoine. Chubushnik small-leaved and Chubushnik coronal were crossed, and Chaebusnik Lemoine turned out, from the hybrid of which many good varieties were derived: Gornostaevaya Mantia, Alabaster, Gletcher, Mont Blanc, Charm, Lavina, Devichy (Virzhinal).

All varieties of chubushniki, fortunately, have different periods of flowering, so that in time you can stretch the joy that these extraordinarily exquisite shrubs give with a pleasant strong scent. They can be very high (right up to 3 m). Jasmine blossoms (which is very pleasing) at the same time with many beautiful bright perennials, which, compared to the background of thickly strewn with white flowers, the bushes look quite advantageous. Jasmine golden is beautiful and tastefully combined with bright red-leaved barberry and dark coniferous.

No wonder why garden jasmine is so popular. The flower adapts to any environmental conditions without problems. It flourishes in brightly lit areas, but in the shade it is weak, from below the bushes are bare.

Reproduction of it is very affordable - by dividing the bush, overgrowth, sowing seeds, layers, green or lignified cuttings.

Like the room, they need very much moisture, so sometimes they require copious additional watering.
