Unique Green Lake: Underwater World in Austria

It is believed that underwater miracles you need to go somewhere to the end of the world, to the ocean coast and to exotic islands. And very few people know that in the heart of Europe there is a unique Green Lake, which gives fans of underwater travel a unique opportunity to do their favorite hobby.

The phenomenon of Styria

Waters descend on the slopes and flood a significant part of the valley. The depth of Grüner See in the particularly generous in the snow years increases to 12 meters. The whole park is under water: even the tops of the trees do not rise above its surface.

By the time the Green Lake is flooded, the lawns of the park manage to grow Alpine greenery. As a result, its waters have a rich emerald hue: he gave the name to the pond. And the water is so clean that the lake can be seen right up to the bottom and from shore to shore.

Such a wonderful phenomenon attracts the attention of divers from all over the world. On Lake Green until the end of July, when the waters begin to subside, come scuba divers, wishing to swim and sit under a tree on a bench, watching the passing fish. There is a dive center for renting equipment for diving. True, there is no scuba diving school, so a diver is required to have a certificate.

The pearl of Austria is not the only unique lake in the world. A well-known magazine recommends, along with Grüner Ze, to visit the Polish Sea Eye in the Tatras - transparent, surrounded by mountains and beautiful in both summer and winter.
