How to cook millet porridge?

To improve the taste, millet dishes are lightly fried until golden. Millet porridge is good with fruit or berries for breakfast. For lunch, a millet garnish can become an alternative to potatoes or rice, and you can also add cereals to the soup.

This dish can be cooked for breakfast. We will describe in more detail how to cook millet porridge, and what products are needed for this:

  • 1/3 cup of millet, washed and shaved;
  • ¾ cup of water;
  • ½ cup skim milk or ½ cup soy milk ;
  • ¼ teaspoon of ground tea cinnamon (useful for people suffering from hypertension);
  • ½ teaspoon of vanilla sugar;
  • 1 pinch of salt;
  • 2 tablespoons of raisins (or more, to taste);
  • Maple syrup or honey to taste.

In a small pot, pour water and milk, pour millet, cinnamon, vanilla, salt and raisins. Stir and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to a minimum, cover with a lid and cook for 25 minutes without stirring. If the liquid is not completely absorbed by the croup, then continue cooking for another 5 minutes or longer. Remove from heat, watered with maple syrup or honey. It turns out very tasty millet porridge!

This recipe describes how to cook millet gruel only from cereals and water. Vegetables can be cooked separately. Porridge is good for a diet dinner or dinner. Ingredients:

  • ¼ cup of millet, before cooking the groats are picked and washed in two waters;
  • 1 ½ cup filtered water.

How to cook millet porridge for a diet dinner? There are no complications here. Pour water into the pan, pour the rump. At high temperature bring to a boil, stir. Brewed on very low heat for an hour and a half or two, as a result, grains become soft and very tasty. The porridge is ready!

A soft, creamy, fragrant breakfast is necessary for children. How to cook delicious cereal? You need to choose quality cereals and good cow's milk. All the millet grains should be large, even, without damage, and their color - yellow. Do not use pale yellow or beige millet. The present milk differs the sated (not transparent!) White, and sometimes even slightly cream color. Products for 4 servings of porridge take in the following ratio:

  • 1 cup of millet;
  • 1 cup of milk;
  • 1 glass of filtered water;
  • salt.

In a medium-sized saucepan pour out the milk and water, mix and pour the croup, add salt. Bring the mixture to a boil. Cook for 20 minutes, stir occasionally. Before serving, the dish is seasoned to taste: sprinkle with dried fruits, add honey or olive oil.

In this way, you can prepare a delicious and nutritious side dish for lunch or breakfast cereal. You will need products:

  • ½ cup of millet;
  • 1 ½ cup of broth.

The broth is poured into the saucepan, the prepared rump is poured out. Bring to a boil, cover with a lid and simmer for about 25 minutes. Serve hot for meat, fish or as an independent dish.
