Have you ever tried mint jam?

Peppermint is widely known as a sedative, but at the same time refreshing and giving energy to the body. Especially often it is added to tea, as well as to other drinks, including alcoholic beverages. Recipes with mint can be listed endlessly. Use this plant for salads, desserts and baking. However, very few people know yet another very unusual version of the use of this plant. It turns out that you can cook incredibly tasty and certainly useful jam from mint. We are used to the fact that it is prepared mainly from fruits and berries, but there are also more exotic options for this delicacy for tea.

Lime-lemon mint jam

In order to prepare a refreshing mint of mint, the following ingredients will be needed:

  • Leaves of mint (crushed) - glass;
  • A lemon - 1 piece;
  • Lime - 2 pieces;
  • Sugar - 2 cups;
  • One sachet of pectin.

We will cook in the multivariate. First, we prepare all the ingredients. Peppermint is washed, dried and crushed (you can do it with a blender or just with a sharp knife), lemon and lime are also mine and cut very finely. We fall asleep all the components in the cup of the multivark, pectin is poured on top. Cook in the "Soup" mode for five minutes, until enough juice is allocated. Then we filter the mixture and pour out the sugar into the resulting mint-lemon-lime cocktail.

Again, turn on the same mode and continue to cook: the syrup first boils, and then begins to thicken. This process is short-lived and will take about 15 minutes. The main thing is do not forget to constantly stir it with a spatula. In a hot form, we pour jam from mint into a prepared jar and tighten it.

Jam with mince and mint

There is another recipe, which uses not only mint, but also melissa (aromatic essential oil plant). We take in equal proportions the fresh leaves of both plants, it should all turn out to be 600 grams. This amount of grass will need 1.5 kilograms of sugar and slightly more glass of water (300 grams). In addition, for the acid must be added a tablespoon of lemon juice.

Preparation of mint from mint according to this recipe will differ as follows:

  • Cook it in a saucepan on fire (and not in a multivark);
  • Leaves do not need to be ground, do not put lemon (only juice);
  • The syrup is not filtered, but is cooked and poured along with mint leaves.

Peppermint and mince, dry and put in a saucepan. We fall asleep them 1/2 of the specified quantity of sugar, we put dishes with a cotton towel. From the second part of sugar, water and fresh lemon juice, cook syrup. Fill them with mint leaves and melissa and leave for 5 hours, so that the mixture is infused. After this, put the saucepan on a slow fire and cook after boiling for 6-7 minutes. Do not filter and cool, pour into jars and roll. Jam should have a transparent gently green color. Here is such a useful, fragrant and very beautiful harvest for the winter! It goes well with green tea. In addition, the jam can be used as a syrup for impregnating biscuits, add to cream, water them ready-made buns, etc.
