How to choose a sedative?

The best soothing drug you only doctor will choose. But there are situations when it is not possible to get to the doctor, and a soothing agent would not hurt. In this case, you need to understand the medicines of this type, in order to understand what to give your preference.

What are the soothing agents?

- for children and adults;

- synthetic, from vegetable raw materials and combined (from synthetic components on a plant basis).

By action on the body, all drugs with a calming effect are divided into groups:

- Anxiolytics (tranquilizers). This is a group of psychotropic drugs for repaying feelings of fear, anxiety, mental stress and other disorders.

- Neuroleptics. Applied only by specialists in psychiatric practice.

- Normotimic means. These are psychotropic drugs that are used in medical practice to stabilize the mood of people with unhealthy psyche.

- Sedatives. Typical sedatives on a plant basis (motherwort infusions, valerian, etc.) or medicines containing bromine.

Sedatives

This group of drugs in the application is most preferable, despite the fact that it does not have such pronounced effects as when using synthetic and combined agents.

A calming agent based on valerian, motherwort or balm has significant advantages: gentle action on the body, minimal amount of adverse reactions, which, as a rule, are reversible.

The most widely known sedative is valerian drops or tablets. One of the positive properties of medicines based on this plant is to facilitate the rapid onset of the deep sleep and deep sleep.

Traditional soothing means

In order to balance your nervous system, you do not need to take medication. For centuries, proven methods can give even more effect than tablets:

- Evening warm baths with decoction of herbs such as hops, mint, chamomile. In the pharmacy you can ask herbal sedatives and use them. For this purpose, the packing of raw materials is poured with boiling water and allowed to stand for about ten minutes. Then the infusion should be brought to a boil and set aside for a while. Strain, pour in a bath filled with water to the middle, there also lower and wet grass, which is pre-wrapped in a gauze or linen cloth. Take a soothing bath before going to bed for 15-20 minutes once a week. Course: 7-10 baths.

- By the same principle, coniferous or limp baths are taken.

- A good soothing means - a cervical pad filled with melissa, mint, chamomile, hops and chopped valerian root. You can do it yourself.

- Tea. Put a spoonful of dry berries of hawthorn in a thermos and pour over for a night with steep boiling water. To improve the taste for them, you can add rose hips. Drink half a cup before meals two or three times a day.
