Weapon family "Val" has long been famous for the use of advanced technologies and truly unique developments. Pedigree

The echo of the Cold War between the States and the Union makes itself felt even in our time. "Vintorez" WBU was developed under a special government order in the 1970s. Successfully conducted tests contributed to its adoption. Back in the 80's, it fell into the hands of KGB officers, scouts and some special forces of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. "Vintorez" VSS allowed to hit targets almost silently. And all thanks to the unique structure of the silencer. And with its help it was possible to destroy not only the enemy's living power, but also its non-armored vehicles.

The use of the new rifle proved to be so successful that the developer of the rifle TsNIITOCHMASH started to create an assault precision-guided machine on its base. The novelty appealed not only to reconnaissance and ground attack planes, but even to snipers. "Vintorez" BCC and AS "Val" are designed for the same cartridge, their structure is largely similar, most parts are interchangeable. It's no wonder that almost all of its combat path these two types of weapons go shoulder-to-shoulder.

Device and its features

The design of the rifle is quite simple. The shock-trigger mechanism consists of a drummer and two searches. One of them is responsible for automatic fire, the second for a single fire. The principle of automation is in many ways similar to that used for the Kalashnikov assault rifle. The rifle BCC "Vintorez" has the following parts in the structure:

Automation works by the principle of the emission of powder gases through the barrel channel into the gas chamber. The channel itself is locked by rotating the shutter. The gas piston has a rigid bunch with the gate frame. In its cavity is a return-fighting spring. The flag guard is on the right, except for a direct task, it also protects the box from getting dust and dirt. The modes of fire are switched by means of the mechanism located in the trigger guard: its horizontal position allows to fire single, the position to the left - shooting bursts.

Sighting devices of the rifle consist of mounted on the silencer sector sight and front sight. The front of the trunk with six rows of holes is completely covered by a silencer. It is through these holes that the formation of powder gases is carried out. Passing through them, they fall into the cylinder of the muffler, and there they are successively scattered into mutually extinguishing streams, leaving for the expansion chambers.

The rifle can be equipped with optics PSO-1, NSPU-3, with a collimator.

Full unmasking

Sniper rifle BCC "Vintorez" has two undeniable advantages that distinguish it among its counterparts. First of all, this is an opportunity to shoot almost soundlessly.

Ammunition

Like all representatives of the family "VAL", "Vintorez" shoots cartridges of caliber 9x39 - SP-5 and SP-6. These sufficiently serious ammunition can destroy even light armor of military equipment.

It is noteworthy that they have different ballistics, they need to shoot weapons separately for each of them. Specialists do not recommend using SP-6 cartridges without special need, as they accelerate the wear of weapons, thanks to the steel-reinforced core.

Lethal force and sighting range

Patron SP-5 can break through two-millimeter steel and hit the living targets behind it. SP-6 outperforms this indicator by 20%. With a long range of aimed shooting, these weapons can not boast, and this is not its specificity. Still, "Vintorez" is a universal weapon, suitable first of all to stormtroopers. Therefore, in order to get into the enemy's head, you have to get to him at least 200 meters. On the body of the body you can get from twice the distance. The installation of additional sighting devices is designed for a maximum range of half a kilometer.

"Vintorez" in battle

Despite a number of advantages, it is not necessary to think that "Vintorez" VSS surpasses all analogs. The weapons are designed primarily for carrying out assault, anti-terrorist, reconnaissance and sabotage measures. This weapon is ideal where the fighter can not open his location, but it is possible to get close to the goal. Perhaps, in some cases it is more logical to use the old kind SVD, albeit large, but striking the goal at a distance of almost a kilometer. In addition, "Vintorez" is not designed for long-term battles. But there, where you need to appear unnoticed, quickly and quietly carry out the operation, and then just as silently withdraw - simply indispensable rifle BCC "Vintorez." The price of a combat rifle is relatively small, which makes it possible, if necessary, to arm special purpose units with it.

"Vintorez" in a peaceful life

Love to arms is often experienced not only by military and law enforcement agencies. It also attracts peaceful adventurers. This rifle was also noted in the notorious terrorist operation in Beslan. With the subsequent analysis of the films filmed by journalists, it was discovered that at least one gunman was armed with Vintorez.

"Vintorez" in service

At present, this rifle is not only from Russian soldiers and law enforcement officers. It is exported and abroad. It is noteworthy that interest not only in Latin America, Africa, the Middle East and the post-Soviet space, but also the United States.

Is there a great future for the project "Vintorez"?

It is difficult to guess what fate awaits this rifle. To date, it does not have any decent analogue in its class, but it is not necessary to talk about its mass production, which at least somehow could compete with the legendary SVD. First of all, this is due to the use of a fairly rare ammunition with special ballistics.

But in any case, one thing is clear - with the execution of the assigned task, "Vintorez" VSS manages to "excellent". And those who have ever experienced it in battle unanimously call this weapon "a soundless Russian death."
