There are two techniques for making homemade cards: scrapbooking and card-making. They are not so different from each other, but still it is worth talking about them separately.

Scrapbooking assumes that the "valentine", made by the craftsman with his own hands, has only paper as the material of manufacture. In this case, various applications are used, moving parts - for example, a rising hat on a gentleman or an opening window, as well as opening folded parts that take up the volume.

Cardmaking assumes a wider choice of materials, through which the "valentine" is performed. With his hands in this technique, the master can create a real masterpiece! All sorts of bows, laces, buttons, small souvenir toys, artificial flowers can be arranged in a postcard rather fancifully, creating an original story.

And someone can use in their work and natural materials: sand, coastal pebbles, shells, dried flowers. Of course, it is superfluous, trying to achieve a special creative, to stick to the card even dried insects, for example, a butterfly, so that it "trembles" on the postcard.

It is unlikely that a woman will appreciate it positively: ladies are kind and compassionate, some can even cause tears, but not the joy that "Valentine's" should deliver. With your own hands it is better to make a voluminous butterfly from the handy material and to strengthen on the front side of the postcard.

In the technique of card-making, by the way, you can perform not only postcards, but also make original homemade gifts, for example, a portrait on a sandy background framed by sea stones.

You can also present a creative hanger as a gift to your beloved woman, using a tree branch resembling deer or moose horns. Such a thing is done quite simply, but it looks extremely nontrivial.

The craftsmen will probably cope with such a task as the execution of various boxes and trunks for jewelry made of wood, bamboo napkins, plastic bottles or with weaving technique from newspaper tubes. With pleasure, representatives of the fair sex take as a gift items of kitchen utensils made by the hands of a loved one: wooden saltcellars and sugar bowls, painted spoons and plates for cutting food.
