As is known, in the process industry, a technological scheme is used for the structuring of processes , which is characterized by some physical parameters. In the process of solving problems in production, in practice we have to make changes in the values of the parameters. For these purposes, as well as for regulating processes, sophisticated automatic control systems are used. For their analysis, a functional diagram is compiled.

What does this term mean?

This phrase means a visual expression of the relationship between some elements of an object. In other words, it is an explanatory drawing of a product or installation that depicts individual types of processes that occur in blocks or circuits of the device.

We can say that the document, in which the form of any model of the product is graphically represented, is a functional scheme. This phrase also implies the importance of explication. Using this explanatory material allows you to reflect the changes that occur in the device and control any chips.

The functional diagram is also called logical or structural, because it is possible to determine the formula for the operation of the device elements from this document. However, this kind of visual systematization does not have any special signs and designations. Therefore, various symbols and instructions from electrical, algorithmic and kinematic names can be used to create such a drawing. A combination of such signs may also be used.

Principles of compilation

The functional scheme can be performed taking into account such moments:

1. Identify the main elements of the system that fulfill a specific purpose.
2. Highlight the main principles of the device.
3. Determine what is an OP - the object of regulation, governed by the amount that induces and establishes the impact.
4. Designate the function block, which is the actuator - the IW.
5. Set which element acts as a sensor and the link that sets the motion.
6. To reduce all the blocks into one structure, indicating the connections and functions that they perform. Each element must be signed, the direction of movement is indicated by arrows.

The functional diagram of the network of local connection of computers is performed using the data of the organizational chart, where the number of computers is indicated, to whom they will belong, and so on. Also, for this purpose it is necessary to distinguish what duties will be performed on this or that equipment, what purpose this or that workplace will have.

The functional diagram is executed in accordance with the rules of the ESKD. Segments of the local network are formed by separate blocks, the links between them are shown using the arrows. The scheme of the organization of equipment and the visual representation of information flows constitute in aggregate the functional diagram.
