Agrarian University in Volgograd is a dynamically developing educational institution, one of the largest universities of our country. It trains about 16 thousand students on the specialties of agricultural, engineering and technological and economic profiles. For a huge number of years of work, the university has created the necessary material and technical base for quality education. Also, the university created all the conditions for disclosing the creative potential of students.

All of the above applies to the present. But what happened in the past? For the first time the educational institution opened its doors to students in 1944. The university was founded in Uryupinsk and was then called the Stalingrad Agricultural Institute. In its organizational structure there were only 4 faculties and a small number of specialties. As the development has increased the number of structural units, new directions of training have appeared.

To date, there is an agrarian university in Volgograd at Universitetsky Prospekt 26. It has 8 faculties:

• Agrotechnological;
• Engineering and technological;
• Biotechnology and veterinary medicine;
• Commodity science and processing technologies;
• Eco-reclamation;
• Tourism and service;
• Electric power;
• economic.

Agro-technological and engineering-technological faculties

Agrotechnological faculty has its history since the foundation of the university. It is a large structural unit. Applicants choose it for several reasons. Firstly, at the bachelor's degree, the structural subdivision offers to the entrants five directions of training related to forestry, gardening, landscape architecture, agronomy, agrochemistry and agropsychology. Secondly, the faculty has modern equipment, many doctors of sciences work.

The engineering and technological structural unit also appeared at the time of the founding of the Agrarian University in Volgograd. At that time it was called the Faculty of Agricultural Mechanization. To date, the structural unit is on the path of development. It is improving its material and technical base, introducing new developments into the educational process. Concerning the training directions, it should be noted that there are only 3 of them at the bachelor's degree: Agroengineering, Technospheric Security, and Vocational Training.

Faculty of Biotechnology and Veterinary Medicine

This structural unit appeared in 2012, but it is connected with the zootechnical and zootechnical faculties, which began their work in 1944. The modern faculty offers a bachelor's degree and a specialty:

1. At the first stage of higher education, applicants can make a choice from "Zootechnics", "Water Bioresources and Aquaculture" and "Veterinary and Sanitary Expertise".
2. On the specialty there is only one educational program. This is "Veterinary".

1. At the Faculty of Merchandising and Processing Technologies, which has existed since 2004, we offer directions related to food products from vegetable and animal raw materials, technology of production and catering, technology of production and processing of agricultural products, commodity science.
2. Ecological and meliorative faculty, which has existed for more than 50 years, offers many educational programs at the bachelor's degree. These are the "Ecology and Nature Management", and "Fire Safety", and "Applied Geodesy", etc.
3. The other faculties (tourism and service, electricity and economy) offer no less interesting and sought-after specialties. Among them we can distinguish "Service", "Tourism", "Electric power and electrical engineering", "Economy", "Management".
