Dangerous eye mite

Most people living on the planet have an eye mite. However, not everyone can develop a disease called "demodecosis." It is a lesion of the skin, which is due to the vital activity of the parasite mite.

Such a harmful and pathogenic eye tick most often lives in the sebaceous glands or in the glands of the eyelids and often even in the hair follicles. And these parasites have a tiny size. They are so invisible that the human eye can hardly detect their presence.

In the human body, the eye mite actively multiplies, and even at high temperatures it even shows its highest activity. That is why exacerbations of this disease occur in the warm season.

Eye mite. Symptoms of the disease

The longer the eye mite is present in the human body, the faster the balance of their "relationships" arises: between the influence of the parasite and the immune system. Therefore, as soon as this peaceful existence is broken in any possible way, lesions and irritations on the skin instantly manifest themselves.

Many factors can trigger this reaction:

  • High temperature regime (heat, bath, sauna, etc.);
  • Surgery on the eyes;
  • Significant sun exposure;
  • Diseases of the nervous system;
  • Problems of hormonal character;
  • Decreased immunity;
  • Disruption of the gastrointestinal tract.

Symptom of demodicosis is most often reddening of the skin. Especially in the eye area. Irritation manifests itself as the formation of peeling and small swollen blisters. People suffering from this disease complain that their eyes get tired very quickly , eyebrows and eyelids are itchy. Often they feel even burning and tingling in the eyes. It may also seem that the eyes are sand or something that interferes.

When the eye mite is activated, foamy secretions constantly appear in the eyes. They often have to be removed from the corners of the eyes. Demodecosis also causes a significant disruption in the glands of the eyelids. Sometimes gray scales appear between the eyelashes, severe redness, and the glands themselves are greatly expanded. At the edge of the century there are small pustular formations. It is worth noting that postponement of treatment to the doctor causes serious problems.

Diagnosis of the disease

At the first symptoms of the presence of an eye mite in a patient, it is necessary to consult an ophthalmologist. By itself, the diagnosis of the problem is very simple and does not take much time. The doctor removes several eyelashes to determine the presence of parasites. Eyelashes are filled with a special substance and examined under a microscope.

Eye mite. Treatment

To get rid of the eye mite will require a little patience and qualified treatment. It is very long, lasts about 5-6 weeks and consists of the use of several types of drugs:

  1. Anti-fungal. The most common way to combat the parasite is to treat the skin with a mercury ointment. However, it is very toxic, and it is not recommended to use this drug for more than 4 weeks. It is contraindicated for pregnant women. Increasingly, tar is used, amitrazole, ichthyol ointment and much more.
  2. Ointments for the treatment of glaucoma. They allow to completely immobilize mites. Among such preparations, there are armin, phosphacol, tosmylen, etc.

In no case can be used to treat demodectic ointment, which include hormones. They, on the contrary, promote the reproduction of ticks.

If the consequence of the disease is the "dry eye" syndrome, then there is a need to bury special artificial tears. Additionally, you can treat eyelids with special tinctures (wormwood or tansy). Often, doctors prescribe demodicosis patients with magnetotherapy or exposure to the D'Arsonval apparatus.

It is necessary to undergo treatment for diseases associated with eye mites. This is seborrhea, and visual impairment, and problems with the internal organs of man. As soon as the main course of demodicosis treatment is passed, it is necessary to rub the burdock oil 3-4 more times in the eyelids. This will promote active growth of eyelashes. With improvements in the first stages of treatment, the disease does not need to be abandoned. This can lead to relapse.
