Freddie Mercury: Biography. Childhood

Born Farruha Bulsary (such is the real name of the artist) in 1946 on September 5 in the city of Zanzibar, the capital of the island of Ungudzha. Parents called the boy a name that meant "happy," "beautiful." In 1954, Farrukh moved to live with his grandfather in Panchgani and went to school. He was always a diligent student, practicing sports, but most of all he liked painting and music. Singing, he gave all his free time, sometimes even what was intended for study. The headmaster of the school where the boy was studying paid attention to his vocal abilities and wrote a letter to his parents asking him to arrange for Farrukh to study piano. To his classmates, his name seemed too complicated and they called him just Freddie. So began his journey to the glory of Freddie Mercury.

Biography of the artist: first successes

As a twelve-year-old teenager, the future star, along with four of her friends, organized a group and began performing at all school evenings. After graduation, Freddie decided to continue his studies at the art college in London (he and his entire family moved to England in 1964). On vacation trying to earn money, because the family was not rich, drew a lot and more and more forgot about music. In college, the guy got acquainted with the vocalist of the group "Smile", began attending their rehearsals. In 1969, Freddie and friend Roger Taylor opened a small store selling Freddie's paintings and other interesting things. In the same year, Freddie began to perform in the band "Ibex", and in 1970 took the place of the vocalist "Smile". On his initiative the collective was renamed "Queen". He changed his name and Freddie, becoming Mercury (from English "mercury", "mercury"). Many songs for both the band's first album, which was released in 1972, and for subsequent ones, were written by Freddie Mercury.

Biography of the artist: a solo career

In 1984 he took advantage of a short break in the tour schedule and leave, recorded the first solo compositions, and in 1985 released an album. Soon in the press there was information about the serious illness of the singer, but he completely denied it. In 1989, the musician, instead of going with his bandmates on a regular tour, devoted time to recording new songs. But in fact, the reason for this was not a creative impulse, but Freddie's inability to speak in connection with the deterioration of health.

Freddie Mercury: Biography. Personal life

In 1969, the artist met Mary Austin, with whom he lived together for seven years. Despite the fact that they broke up, Freddie called her the only real friend of her life. The musician is also credited with having an affair with actress Barbara Valentine. The personal life of the singer has always been a mystery, since he never gave unambiguous answers to journalists' questions, it was impossible to understand what is true in his words, what is fiction and what is just a joke.
