Cysts of endocervix on the cervix: causes and treatment

Everyone at least once in his life heard about such a pathology as a cyst. Many people scare this word, others prefer not to pay attention to it. According to experts, this kind of neoplasm can appear on absolutely any organ. One of the most common to date is the endocervical cysts. What is the difference?

What are endocervical cysts on the cervix?

These are round-shaped formations that arise when the glands of the cervix are blocked. They consist of a capsule and a liquid filling it. Such cysts can be localized absolutely anywhere in the cervical canal.

Endocervix is a mucous membrane of the cervix, which lining directly to the whole of its surface and produces a special mucus, which is necessary for the conception of the baby and the quiet course of pregnancy. Normally, the structure of this shell should be smooth and homogeneous, but due to some factors it can change. If the habitual integrity is broken, endocervical cysts of the cervix are formed.

As a rule, they arise because the ducts, through which the mucus exits, are clogged. As a result, the entire generated secret remains inside. In this case, there is nothing to worry about, so a neoplasm is not considered dangerous. However, everything can be a little different. For example, if pathogenic microorganisms enter the cavity, the inflammatory process begins, which is already very dangerous.

Causes

Endocervix cysts on the cervix are usually diagnosed in women giving birth at the age of 35 years. Doctors explain this by the fact that in the process of the genera the cervical canal shells are violated, so-called hyperechoic inclusions are formed. Often the latter grow into cysts. In addition, experts identify and other reasons that contribute to the development of these pathologies in young women.

  1. Cervical erosion.
  2. Postponed diseases of the genital organs (colpitis, cervicitis, etc.).
  3. Use of the intrauterine device as the main method of contraception.
  4. Entry into the cervical canal of endometrial cells.
  5. Various kinds of inflammatory processes in this area.

Symptoms

Most often during a long time after the emergence of the tumor the woman does not feel any discomfort. Small cysts endocervix, according to experts, do not deliver pain, other external clinical signs in this case are also absent.

If the neoplasm is larger and is located near the entrance to the cervix, then some symptoms may still be present. Most often, the patients complain of minor bloody discharge, which appear several days before the start of the proposed menstruation. Some feel the presence of a foreign body and a slight discomfort. In the case of infection of the tissues, pains appear in the lower abdomen, the nature of the discharge changes. They become more abundant and can appear not only a few days before menstruation, but also in the middle of the cycle.

Many women often worry about how endocervix cysts and pregnancy are related. Can they affect the fetus? In fact, there is no connection between this pathology and the carrying of the baby. If small cysts were found before pregnancy, and the doctor did not prescribe treatment, then there is no sense to experience. The thing is that they usually do not make themselves felt for nine months.

If neoplasms require intervention, it is necessary to undergo a course of treatment, and only then plan a pregnancy.

Classification

  • Single cysts . This is the most common pathology. Reaching a large size, neoplasms can affect the reproductive function of a woman and even block the passageway.
  • Multiple cysts. Presence of two or more neoplasms in the uterine cavity. This pathology very rarely entails complications. As a rule, education does not increase in size over time.
  • Small cysts of endocervix are isolated into a separate group, since they are formed only in the scarring zone, for example, after cauterization of erosion.

Diagnostics

When there are primary symptoms of this pathology, it is recommended to seek medical advice from a doctor. In some cases, endocervical cysts of the cervix are found during the next gynecological examination. However, in order to finally confirm this diagnosis, the doctor must necessarily appoint the following procedures:

  • Ultrasound of the cervix. This study can detect even minor changes in the structure of tissues.
  • A smear to determine the presence of various kinds of infections of the genitourinary system. This study is conducted to exclude other diseases with similar symptoms. The thing is that the removal of the neoplasm is impossible until the other ailments are cured.
  • Extended colposcopy. Tissues of the cervix are examined under a microscope, which allows obtaining the most accurate information about their structure and possible changes.
  • Oncocytology . The patient is taken a smear in order to exclude the presence of malignant changes.
  • PAP smear. Such a test allows early detection of primary signs of cell degeneration (precancerous state). It is carried out with the help of dyeing indicator compounds.

Treatment

Most often endocervix cysts on the cervix do not require any special therapy. If they do not vary in size and do not in any way affect the work of the reproductive system of a woman, it is enough to constantly observe the gynecologist, in time to notice even minor changes and take all necessary measures.

If there is a risk of rupture of the tumor or tissue infection has occurred, the specialist prescribes appropriate treatment. It is important to note that the removal of pathology is possible only in the absence of inflammatory processes or diseases of the genitourinary system. Thus, the first stage of therapy is the elimination of the inflammatory process. Only after this, the doctor will decide how to remove all the cervical endocervix cysts.

Treatment of such a pathological process, as a rule, involves several options.

  1. If the tumor is localized near the vagina, laser removal is applied. Most often this method eliminates pathologies of small sizes.
  2. If the cyst was diagnosed directly in the neck of the uterus, the radio wave method is used . This procedure is performed using a local anesthetic option. The doctor by means of radio waves initially opens a cavity, and then removes all its contents. This method is considered one of the least traumatic.
  3. If the cysts of the endocervix on the cervix are deep, cryotherapy is used. This method implies the use of liquid nitrogen. The doctor first freezes all the existing neoplasms, and then they die off on their own and fall off. Most often, this procedure is appointed immediately after the end of menstruation.
  4. Surgical removal is indicated only if there are concomitant diseases. The operation is performed with the use of anesthesia and is very traumatic.

The choice of this or that method of treatment depends on several factors. Only a doctor can prescribe therapy based on the results of the tests and the preliminary diagnostic examination.

Conservative treatment

Currently, treatment of neoplasms of this nature through medication is not effective. However, specialists often resort to his help in the prevention of relapse or to reduce the risk of pathology in those patients who are constantly exposed to negative factors. In such cases, doctors recommend homeopathic or herbal remedies, as well as physiotherapy procedures.

Traditional treatment

The use of prescriptions for alternative medicine is also not an effective therapy, but it can be used in conjunction with the main course of treatment or as a preventive measure. In any case, without first consulting a doctor can not do.

You can prepare a decoction of the following herbs: one part of the string, wormwood, nettle, the roots of valerian, sorrel, walnut leaves, 4 parts of burdock root and immortelle, 6 parts of St. John's wort. 3 tablespoons of the resulting mixture should be filled with 500 ml of boiling water and leave to infuse for about an hour. Take half the glass three times a day before eating.

In the treatment of endocervical cysts, a photo of which can be viewed in specialized reference books, a tincture of a golden mustache is often used. It will require about 40 interstitial plants and 500 ml of vodka. Interstice must be crushed with scissors and filled with vodka. To insist such a medicine is recommended not less than 14 days in a dark place. Take it should be 20 drops before meals twice a day. The course of treatment should last at least 10 days, after a short break it can be repeated.

Prevention

As already noted above, cysts of endocervix on the cervix are a common pathology. To prevent its development, first of all it is recommended to follow the rules of personal hygiene, to properly choose the means for caring for this zone. In addition, all existing ailments and complications must be treated in a timely manner. It is also important to undergo a preventive check-up twice a year with a gynecologist. The thing is that in the early stages of formation of tumors it is much easier to eliminate them.
