Collector of floor heating: connection

Water floor heating is becoming more common in individual houses. The method creates a more even distribution of temperature in the rooms, which makes them more comfortable, and heating - more economical by 10-15%. In high-rise buildings this method is prohibited for connection to centralized heating systems and applications above the ground floor. The system of the warm floor contains:

  • A collector of a warm floor;
  • Pipes;
  • Armature;
  • Measuring and regulating devices.

The boiler output is selected more than the heating system. In houses with a large area, additional radiators are required. It should also be taken into account that hot water may be needed for the bathroom and kitchen. All this must be provided by one common boiler.

The device and work of a warm floor

Warm water floor is one of the most modern heating systems. The temperature of the coolant does not exceed 55 ° C. If it is higher, the hot floor will create discomfort. To the feet was pleasant from touching the floor, the surface temperature of the flooring material should not exceed 35 ° C. The temperature of the coolant coming from the boiler is usually higher. Therefore, stirring of heated and cooled water is carried out in the mixing unit of the collector. The temperature of the coolant is set by the thermostat.

Heating pipes are in the thickness of the concrete screed under the finish coat. The independent floor heating system meets all modern requirements:

  • high performance;
  • reliability;
  • durability;
  • Economy.

The premises are divided into sections of approximately 40 m 2 , with separate contours of not more than 60 m in length and compensatory sutures along the boundaries. Inside each site a water-heated floor is created. The collector is connected to the forward and reverse pipes of each circuit, and through it the flow of the coolant flows. Preheated water from the boiler is distributed along the contours, and cooled down through it back. Heating loops have different pipe lengths. With the same passages, more water will pass through the short pipe at the inlet and outlet than through the long one. Accordingly, the sites will be heated differently. On each circuit, it is necessary to ensure a predetermined flow rate of water, so that a uniform heat distribution occurs throughout the system. The indicator is the same temperature of the coolant at the outlets of all circuits. At the same time, heat will spread evenly across the floor of the house.

Purpose and structure of the reservoir

The collector of the warm floor serves to distribute the coolant evenly from the boiler to the heated premises and return to reheating in a circular circulation. With its help, adjust all connected circuits to the set temperature, make water make-up and drain, and also remove air from the system. Structurally the collector is made in the form of a pipe-"comb" with nozzles for connection of heating circuits. They should try to do everything one length.

Manifold cabinet

When a warm water floor is being developed for the house, the collector is placed in a convenient location, as close as possible to the center of the heating system. There, too, pipes of contours with the right bend are turned on, and the supply and removal of the coolant are connected. In order to rotate the flexible tube, a space is left from below. A group of supply and return manifolds with control valves or valves is assembled from above. The place should be removed from the heaters and placed on the wall. The best is placing the equipment in a special cabinet. It should be placed above the warm floor, so that it is convenient to remove air from the pipes. The whole system is connected by compression fittings.

A simple version of the collector group

Simple collectors with control valves and flow meters on each circuit are used, as well as shut-off valves for supply or shutdown of the coolant. Such a system is well suited for a private home, where there are no significant fluctuations in pressure and temperature in pipelines. You can collect the simplest collector of the warm floor with your own hands, which will save money. The disadvantage is the dependence on changes in the temperature and flow rate of the boiler coolant, as well as external conditions.

Collectors of a modern heating system

Full connection of the collector of the warm floor is provided with the following additional equipment:

  • Mixing unit or three-way mixer;
  • circulation pump;
  • Thermostatic regulators and flowmeters in each circuit;
  • Manual air vent.

The material can be plastic or metal. The collector of the warm floor is made of polypropylene, stainless steel or brass. It is equipped with regulating valves, manometers, thermometers, fittings, valves. In a special device, hot and chilled water are mixed, and pumped at a predetermined temperature by the pump into the supply manifold. The return is connected with the boiler, closing the circular circulation system of the coolant. The cooled water is returned to the preheating, and then again enters the system. The supply manifold is always located above the return manifold and contains an air vent.

The pump-mixing unit contains a three-way valve installed at the outlet of the collector system. It only regulates the flow of hot water, and the flow of chilled water remains constant. The coolant pressure from its outlet is maintained by means of a pump.

With sufficient fluid circulation, the mixer is installed without a pump.

Flow control

To distribute the coolant evenly, flow controllers are installed on each circuit. In the long heating loops, more liquid must be supplied, so that the heat transfer is the same everywhere. To do this, make a stationary setting of the flow rate, so that the heat spreads through the rooms evenly. Similarly, it is possible to create an uneven heat supply, if some rooms do not particularly need heating.

The flow regulator is a valve. When adjustment is made, its balance is set proportional to the length of the pipe of the corresponding contour. The regulator is a flowmeter for a collector of a warm floor, because from the mark on the scale it is possible to judge the amount of the supplied heat carrier.

Thermostatic valves

The temperature in the circuits can be maintained by means of thermostatic valves. They receive a signal from the air temperature sensor or the floor in the room, after which the flow rate of the coolant is changed by means of an electrothermal drive.

The thermostatic valve can be with manual adjustment. It is used when a simple collector for a water-heated floor is installed in a system with constant parameters.

Conclusion

The collector of the warm floor serves for uniform distribution of the heat carrier through the heating pipes with the help of a mixing unit and water flow regulators.

For simple heating with stable parameters, devices with valve adjustment are suitable. For multi-circuit complex heating systems, modern full-fledged temperature control is required.
