Features that determine the accounting of investments in non-current assets

Accounting policy of the enterprise is one of the main aspects of internal accounting activity. A competently built accounting system, with the availability of a qualified team of professionals, makes it possible to greatly facilitate the management of a large manufacturing enterprise. Accounting for investments in non-current assets is a kind of analysis of non-current assets of the enterprise. Any type of investment is subject to numerous discussions. In general terms, non-current assets are the organization's own funds, which are withdrawn from the intraeconomic turnover, but are reflected in the balance sheet. Non-current assets in the balance are considered to be of secondary importance, since these material resources are not involved in the work of the enterprise. This type of assets includes periodically withdrawn parts of working capital, a share of abstracted material and financial resources, as well as fixed assets that are transferred to the use of individual structural units and divisions of the company. Accounting for investments in non-current assets is also subject to a thorough analysis of the organization's activities in relation to its financial component.

Thus, account 08, entitled "Investments in non-current assets", is used for the most part to provide information on the costs of the enterprise to the objects, which are then accepted for accounting as fixed assets. Among these funds can be attributed various objects of nature management and land. In addition to all of the account 08, additional sub-accounts associated with specific activities can also be opened, for example, the construction or acquisition of objects that are attributed to fixed assets, the acquisition of certain intangible assets, the performance of scientific research and experimental design work. So on the sub-account, associated with the acquisition of land, reflects the cost of their purchase. In the sub-account "Construction of facilities related to fixed assets", they combine costs, with regard to the erection of structures and buildings, installation work on equipment and other expenses in accordance with the estimate documentation. It should be noted that the main attention is drawn to the sub account 08-4, which is associated with the acquisition of fixed assets. This subaccount records the purchased equipment to provide current activities, machines and other tools, inventory and some items related to fixed assets that do not require installation work. The acquisition of production machines, as a rule, is a large-scale investment of funds.

Accounting for investments in non-current assets at each enterprise uses its methods of collecting information on individual production components (these include production sites, areas and shops). The quality of accounting for non-current assets depends on the reliability of the information received and on the speed of its collection. In this case, it is possible to operate with the amount of funds, which, without much damage to the main activity, is expedient to withdraw from the turnover of the enterprise. Accounting for investments in non-current assets, like other types of accounting, has its own characteristics. Naturally, without accurate data it is impossible to keep a correct record of this type of company's assets. When analyzing accounting, it should be constantly ensured the possibility of promptly obtaining information related to costs attributable to all sub-accounts used in accounting. One of the main problems of accounting is that some activities, for example, such as development work, in most cases can not be tied to a specific amount of costs, which creates additional difficulties in the reliability of credentials.
