Chronic Fatigue Syndrome is a modern disease.

One of the most common pathologies of modern times is the syndrome of chronic fatigue, the first and main symptom of which is a general, pronounced, unmotivated weakness that does not pass after a long rest, which takes a person out of active life for a long time. First, in 1860, a single syndrome of "neurasthenia" combined various symptoms and ailments. In 1988, American scientists chronic fatigue syndrome was identified as an independent disease. The reason for this was a sudden sharp increase in the number of patients who complained of constant fatigue. In addition, fatigue was accompanied by a number of psychological and physical symptoms. Outbreaks were observed in the states of Nevada (1984), Florida (1956) and California (1934), and they were not limited to any socio-demographic or geographic groups.

For a long time, the treatment of the name of this disease was extremely controversial, and it was called differently: the syndrome postvirusnoy asthenia or immune dysfunction, myological encephalomyelitis. It is accepted to distinguish the main signs of chronic fatigue:

  1. Exhausting weakness that occurs suddenly.
  2. Progressive long-term fatigue, not disappearing even after sleep or rest.
  3. Decreased efficiency.
  4. Absence of any diseases and obvious causes that can cause fatigue.

There are also small signs of chronic fatigue:

  1. Prolonged progressive fatigue, especially evident after any previously easily tolerated physical exertion.
  2. Low-temperature fever and headache.
  3. Soreness in the lymph nodes.
  4. Pain in individual muscles, migrating joint pain, muscle weakness.
  5. Sleep disorder in the form of insomnia or drowsiness.
  6. Neuropsychiatric disorders: forgetfulness, disturbances in the work of the organs of sight, irritability, indecisiveness, a decrease in the ability to concentrate attention and mental activity.

These symptoms manifest themselves gradually, in most cases everything starts with a condition resembling a common cold - the temperature rises, there is a sore throat, lymph nodes increase, and a headache occurs. Then in the next few days and sometimes hours, muscle weakness, soreness of some muscles, joint pain, fast fatigue are added .

It is believed that people at the age of 26-45 years, especially women, are most susceptible to this disease, although both a teenager and a child of a kindergarten age can get sick. The duration of the disease is different, some patients recover sufficiently for several months, and others will need several years. Quite often, the syndrome of chronic fatigue is cyclical when the periods of exacerbation of the disease alternate with periods of remission.

If you often feel an unexplained fatigue that does not pass after rest, together with which you observe a number of other signs of this disease, do not start independent treatment at all. Address to the neuropathologist, immunologist or psychoneurologist, who will tell you how to treat chronic fatigue. There is no single effective and quick-acting remedy for this ailment, as there are no exact reasons for its occurrence. Treatment of such an insidious disease of our time as a syndrome of chronic fatigue should be a complex of measures, including: normalization of physical activity and rest, vitamin therapy, active methods of normalizing emotional and psychological background, daily two-hour walks. In addition, a course of therapeutic physical training, autogenous training and massage will be required. The oxygen cocktails, the baths and the circular shower are quite effective . Normalize the circulation of vital energy, reduce the pain syndrome, restore the normal functioning of internal organs will help the use of acupuncture.
