According to official statistics, winter fishing lovers in Russia are much larger than, for example, summer. Why is winter fishing so popular? Probably with the fact that this is not only a version of amateur sports, but also one of the available types of outdoor activities for men in the cold. But still they can be obtained in bays and old men, pits, near underwater keys, islets of vegetation. Not sleeping in winter, the fish prefers to keep about a meter from the bottom. This is because the water temperature there is plus 4 degrees, and near the surface - about zero.

When selecting the lures themselves, one must take into account that the pike-perch has a rather narrow throat. Therefore, the gears are selected corresponding (10-15 mm) and long (6-12 cm). Many use spoon-baits, made by own hands. Sometimes they are bimetallic - they consist of plates of two metals, which, according to some fishermen, should additionally attract a predator. Weight is selected depending on the size of the estimated catch. In the closed reservoirs - up to 20 grams, but on the rivers - sometimes up to 50 grams (since with strong currents, the light bait does not make you feel the bottom when you shine). The technique of fishing is very different.

Winter fishing for pike-perch is sometimes carried out with the help of a spoon-bait and a float. It is believed that this is the best way to withstand the required depth, which is very important for good biting. And often the bite happens really during the game with a float. Sometimes a fresh fish and a thin strip of her skin are put on a hook or a tee.
