Cherry syrup: a recipe for every taste

Mistresses often use semi-finished products for cooking certain dishes. It happens that they are made immediately before cooking the main dish, but sometimes they use those that have been stored for a long time in stock. One such product is cherry syrup. The recipe for its preparation is simple, but not unique.

In the east of Georgia, there is a variant according to which numerous housewives prepare cherry syrup. The recipe is simple and does not require much effort. For work, only three basic products will be required: 2 kilograms of fresh cherries-7 glasses of ordinary water and 2.5 kilograms of granulated sugar.

To prepare, you need a large saucepan. Then everything must be done in turn:

  1. Collect all the ingredients together and put the pan on the fire. After boiling, the mixture should be cooked for about three hours. At this time, foam will be abundantly allocated. It must be constantly removed. The stopping of foaming will be a signal to the end of cooking.
  2. Mass pour into another container, straining it through gauze. The resulting product covered with a towel and leave in this position for a day.
  3. The next day the filtration process is repeated again.
  4. The resulting product is heated again, bringing to a boil.
  5. Now it remains only to cool a little, and then pack it into a prepared container and tightly seal it.

It turns out a very tasty and fragrant cherry syrup. The recipe is good for its simplicity, but it takes a long time. This is not always convenient.

Possible options

People are constantly making blanks for the winter. In the cold season it is pleasant to get a product that reminds of cheerful warm days. Cherry is a wonderful berry, which is used for cooking a wide variety of dishes. From it, beautiful jams and jams are obtained, which can then be used as an ornament or an additional component. But one of the most popular options is cherry syrup. Its recipe directly depends on the method of preparation. There are two main options:

1. Cherry is used in the form of fresh berries, and the intermediate product must be subsequently filtered.

2. Preliminary of the fruit must squeeze the juice, which then must be boiled in sugar syrup to the desired consistency.

Each method is good in its own way. Everything depends on the desire and availability of the necessary equipment. If the house does not have a juicer, then you have to use the first option and spend a lot more time. And those who do not want to trouble themselves, they can just go to the store. There the syrup is always sold.

Alternative method

It is very easy to prepare syrup from cherry juice. The recipe provides for the availability of the necessary products in the following ratio: 3 kilograms of cherries - 5 glasses of plain water, 1½ kilograms of sugar and one and a half teaspoons of citric acid.

The process, as a rule, begins with the preparation of products:

  1. Berries wash and remove their tails. After that, put the products in a spacious container, crush them arbitrarily with their hands and leave them in this condition for 24 hours.
  2. The next day, pour out the water in the container, mix everything well, and then strain using gauze.
  3. The resulting juice should stand up a little. After that, it must be filtered again.
  4. Add sugar at a rate of 1 ½ kilograms per liter of juice and put the mixture on the fire for boiling.
  5. Minutes for 5 before the end of the process add lemonade. It acts as a preservative and flavor additive.

Now the ready syrup can safely be poured over cans (or bottles) and sent for storage.

A successful combination

You can prepare cherry syrup from cherry juice a little differently. The recipe in this case will include several additional ingredients: for 640 grams of berries (about 200 pieces), take 80 grams of cherry leaves (also about 200 pieces), 2 kg of sugar, a couple of tablespoons of lemon and 2 ½ liters of cold water.

Sequence of preparation:

  1. Wash the leaves and berries. Remove cherry and stalk from the cherry.
  2. Products folded in a basin, add water and cook for half an hour.
  3. Strain the mixture gently.
  4. Add sugar with lemon juice to the resulting infusion and bring the solution to a boil.
  5. Immediately pour the product into prepared dishes and roll it tightly.

Now at any time you can have a syrup at your fingertips, which is perfect not only for making confectionery and desserts. With its help you can make wonderful cocktails or liqueurs. Use of leaves allows to strengthen aroma and to make a ready product more sated.
