What can be prepared from fillet of tilapia?

In Vietnam, in addition to growing a very common fish - pangasius, the production of other fish species has also been put on stream. For example, tilapia.

This fish is a relative of a common perch. Its motherland is the rivers of Africa. It has another unofficial name - "St. Peter's fish", as according to the legends this holy apostle was engaged in catching tilapia during his wanderings. The dark spots that are found behind the gills of the tilapia are legends from the fingers of the apostle.

Tilapia has very gentle and low-fat meat, so this fish is suitable for cooking almost any dish. It can be boiled, including steaming, roasting, baking in the oven.

From the fillet of tilapia, you can cook many different dishes. For example, as a snack, you can cook this fish in batter. To prepare this dish you need to wash the fillet of tilapia (we need 4 pieces), dry it with a paper towel, salt (you can sprinkle a suitable seasoning for fish) and set aside for a while. While the fish is pickled, prepare the dough for batter. We break three eggs into a bowl and beat them with a mixer or whisk, pour half a glass of milk, and even better - cream, salt, add greens (dill and parsley, can be dried) and mix. Now pour in the flour and mix everything to get a semi-liquid dough. Flours require approximately 4-6 spoons.

We chop the fish into small pieces, dip into ready-made dumplings and fry in hot oil. Such a fish can be eaten immediately, as they say - "from a frying pan", and you can cool and serve cold.

The original version of this dish can be called a fillet of tilapia, fried in a potato breading. That is, we will cook the dairy for this variant of the dish not from flour, but from potatoes.

So, 600 grams of fish fillet will require five medium-sized potatoes, a bulb, a couple of eggs, three spoons of flour, a fish oil and seasoning.

The fish fillet will be prepared, as in the first recipe, that is, we'll wash it, we'll finish it, season it and leave it for 10 minutes to marinate. In the meantime, fry the finely chopped onion, and potatoes we will rub on a small grater, first, of course, after cleaning it and washing it. We must press the potato mixture, put it in a deep bowl. Add the roasted onion, break the eggs. All the ingredients are mixed, seasoned and seasoned according to your taste.

Now we will heat up the frying pan in the frying pan and reduce the heat to a moderate one. Take a piece of fillet of tilapia and dab it on one side into a potato breading. Put the fillet on the pan with potatoes down. Now spread the breading on top and fry our fish for 10 minutes. Carefully turn the pieces, using a spatula, and cover the frying pan with a lid. Now reduce the heat and cook the fish for another 10 minutes.

As you can see, using this recipe for fillet of tilapia, you can prepare a fairly satisfying dish, which does not need a side dish. Serve this fish best with a vegetable or green salad.

And how to cook tilapia fillets in the oven? There are many options. Here, perhaps, one of the simplest. Take four pieces of fillet (about 100 grams each), we will tear them with salt and seasonings for fish. Put it into the prepared form, which is pre-lubricated with oil. Over each fillet we put two slices of lemon. We will bake in the oven at a temperature of 175 degrees for 20 minutes. As a sauce to fish, you can serve mayonnaise or a mixture of mayonnaise with sour cream, garlic, lemon juice and herbs.

Baked tilapia can be prepared for more complex recipes. For example, add mushrooms, vegetables to fish, cook it with cheese crust or some kind of sauce.

Fans of a healthy diet can cook tilapia for a couple. To do this, washed fish should be poured with lemon juice and soy sauce and sprinkled with seasonings. Leave to marinate for about 20 minutes, and then cook in a double boiler for 10 minutes. A fragrant and healthy dish, suitable for dietary nutrition, is ready!
