This article will deal with weapons of world renown, the development of which marked the beginning of an era in the field of domestic weapons design. The TTX of the Kalashnikov assault rifle improved from one model to another, but the principle of operation remained unchanged. The traditions laid down by the creator in his model were also unbreakable: quality, reliability, simplicity and long service life.

History of creation...

Prerequisites for the development of a new model of weapons were the results of a meeting of the technical council of the People's Commissariat of the USSR in July 1943, where the captured prototype of the German StG-44 and the American carbine M1 Carbine was sorted out.

About a month later, a new experimental cartridge with a caliber of 7.62 x 41 mm was created, later the cartridge was subjected to correction, as a result, the caliber was converted to 7.62 x 39 mm.

Later, a number of design competitions were announced, which resulted in the development of the famous automaton.

In 1947, it was decided to start production of an automaton in Izhevsk. Two years later, two models were adopted: standard AK with a caliber of 7.62 mm and a model with a folding stock - AKC - of the same caliber.

1959 marked the release of the upgraded version of the machine. The flaws detected during operation were corrected, based on the already used TKB-517 machine, new TTX Kalashnikov assault rifles were made and the first machine gun based on AKM was produced.

Machine

Kalashnikov's automatic rifle, TTX and main parts were modified from one version of the product to another to improve efficiency, reliability and quality improvement. However, the design features remained unchanged.

Since the introduction of AK (Kalashnikov assault rifle) 74, TTX, installed at that time, have become the starting point for the non-stop development of design ideas. The types and shapes of buttstocks, the shape of the handle, the length of the trunk changed. The models of the hundredth series (in addition to the protrusions of the bayonet-knife) provides a jack for mounting the grenade launcher. The fifth-generation automatic machine (for example, AK-12) has Picassini slats for attaching various types of equipment, such as optical or collimator sights, laser targets or a flashlight. The quality, purpose, TTX of the Kalashnikov assault rifle are constantly improving.

Assignment of the main parts of the product

The barrel - is intended for specifying the direction of the bullet's flight directly upon firing.

Trunk box - serves as a connector for all parts and mechanisms of the machine, ensures the closure of the barrel bolt and the locking of the latter.

The cover of the receiver - promotes the protection of internal parts of the product (placed in the receiver) from contamination and penetration of foreign objects.

Aiming device - consists of a front sight and a sight. It is designed to point the barrel of the submachine gun at the target for the most effective shooting.

Applied - provides convenient shooting with the handle.

Shutter frame - activates the bolt and the trigger mechanism. The bolt, in turn, sends the cartridge into the chamber, locks the barrel bore, breaks the shell of the capsule, removes the sleeve.

The return mechanism - brings the shutter frame and the bolt to the original (forward) position.

Gas tube and barrel guard - protect the hands of the arrow from burns, and also set the direction of movement of the gas piston.

Shock-trigger mechanism - pulls the trigger, which is in the cocked (combat) position. Strikes a blow at the striker, thereby ensuring automatic fire bursts or single firing. It serves to stop the fire, put in a fuse mode, and also prevents shots when the bolt is locked.

Cevieu - serves for a comfortable grasp of the machine's body when firing. Together with the gas tube protects the palm arrow from the burn.

Store - serves to store and transport ammunition cartridges, as well as feed into the chamber for the production of shooting in a different position.

A bayonet knife is used in a bayonet attack or any other kind of close contact engagement in an attached position. Can be used as a knife, as a saw and as wire cutters.

TTX Kalashnikov AK-74 and not only

The modern model of Kalashnikov AK-74M has the following characteristics: the weight of the product is 3,6 kg without cartridges, 3.9 kg - loaded, 5.8 kg - without cartridges, but with the mounted night vision sight of the NSPUM model, the sight of the same type of NSPU- 3 is slightly lighter - only 0.1 kg.

The empty store weighs 0.23 kg, and the bayonet knife outside the scabbard is only 0.32 kg.

The length of the machine is 940 millimeters, and with the bayonet attached - 1089 mm. With the deployed butt, this figure already has a value of 943, and with a folded - 704 millimeters. With the advent of new models of TTX Kalashnikov assault rifle are undergoing changes.

The length of the barrel is 415 millimeters, together with the installed muzzle torus-compensator and only 372 mm - without it.

The width is also an integral part of the TTX Kalashnikov assault rifle. It is 70 millimeters from a standard product. The height is 195 mm.

The principle of operation for all models is the same - the system for removing gases of burnt gunpowder and a rotary valve - despite the changing from one model to another TTX Kalashnikov.

A bullet fired from the AKS-74U is capable of developing an initial speed of 735 m / s.

Features of AKS-74U

In view of the worldwide trend towards the creation of shorter versions of the already existing assault rifles, the USSR designers in the 1970s also took care of creating a compact sample of the already existing assault rifle.

In comparison with the original version, "drying" (sometimes there are versions with the letter "h" instead of "sh") has the following features:

• A significantly shortened barrel with a mounted blower, which in turn serves as a flame arrester;
• Gas-piston rod is shortened almost twice;
• Removed the system of slowing down the rate of fire;
• Improved system of stabilizing the flight of a bullet with a truncated trunk.

Advantages

The main feature is the relatively high firing range for this type of weapon. But this is not the only plus. It should also be mentioned:

• Due to its small size, concealed wearing is possible;
• Reliable, easy to disassemble, clean and reassemble;
• High punching capacity.

disadvantages

Despite the high popularity of AKS-74U, the product has a number of shortcomings. Some of them lead to the abandonment of the use of this weapon, some require addiction. Everything depends on the wishes and opportunities of the owner.

• First of all, the naked eye is noticeably much lower in accuracy compared to the original version of the product.
• Sighting range is similarly low, if compared with the classic version of the machine.
• Low percentage of stopping action. This term denotes the parameter of the bullet, which determines the opponent's ability to continue any actions after a bullet hit. In this case, a low indicator of this parameter is associated with the use of the 5.45 caliber.
• The model quickly overheats because of its small size.

Kalashnikov's automatic machine in mass culture

In a number of African countries, the newborn boys are given the name "Kalash". Versions of such naming are many.

One of the theories says that it is named after the hero of the film "22 minutes" - a Somali pirate who helped the protagonist.

According to another version, it is claimed that the name does not have any connotation to the Kalashnikov rifle, but it means something in local dialects.

And also there is a religious interpretation, rooted in totemic religions, based on the cult of ancestor patrons. This view is held by about 16% of the population of Africa.

According to this interpretation, the Kalashnikov assault rifle is so well known all over the world that it is difficult to name a country to which it would not be affected. In particular, in a number of armed conflicts and on the territory of Africa, this weapon was also used.

In the end, it came to the point that a number of African tribes who used the famous "Kalash" identified this weapon with the spirit of a great ancestor, capable of both harming and protecting. Therefore, when a boy was born, and therefore a warrior, he was called "Kalash", implying, therefore, that the future defender grows, the support and hope of the whole family.
