Why are all the hours in advertising the same time?

Have you ever wondered why the watch in advertising is always installed at the same time? Most likely, they never noticed that advertisers performed their work correctly.

If you look at any advertising image of the watch, you will notice that it is always set to 10:10. Searching for a watch model on sales sites leads to thousands of results, but it's hard to find an image of the dial on which this particular time would not have been set.

The reason for such an arrangement of the arrows

The clock is set to 10:10 almost in all the advertising images of the watch company Rolex. There is a good reason for the dogmatic fixation of "10:10". According to Andrew Block, executive vice president of watch company Tourneau, it's very pleasant to look at the dial with this arrangement of arrows, since most branded logos are in its upper part, and setting the time at 12:05 or 1:20 will cover them .

"Of course, you could rearrange time by 4:40 and fully open the logo, but this may not appeal to consumers," notes Suzanne Hurni, head of marketing and advertising at Ulysse Nardin. Arrows pointing down, make the clock look like a sad smiley.

The clock set for another time simply does not look aesthetically pleasing. If you do not want all the products on the catalog pages to frown on your potential customers, then placing the arrows in the bottom half of the clock is a very bad idea.

Timex advertising tricks

Advertising company Timex involves setting the hands of the clock at 10:09:56. There is also another advertising trick. Timex always takes pictures of his watch when they show 10:09:36. The second arrow in this case is slightly offset from the center, which prevents the shading of logos in the lower half of the clock. Advertisers even adhere to this time in photos of electronic watches.

So, if you want to sell a watch, set it at 10:10. This will achieve the most aesthetic image.
