Where can continuous education lead?

From birth to death, a person has to constantly learn to survive in order to adapt to the changing reality, to find and to know himself and reasonably live his life. The concept of continuous education, training, self-improvement is present in many philosophical and scientific works. It continues to be supplemented to this day.

What is the need for continuing education? Yes, just in order not to roll down to the existence in situations of patterns and stereotypes. After all, life is so diverse and multifaceted that to stop in one's own development is a real crime.

The main difference between a person and a highly developed animal is the ability to create. Ability to express themselves through creative work and word, the ability to invent, rationalize and create has led humanity away from reflex-conditioned animals whose vital activity is aimed at ensuring their bio-survival and production of offspring.

People, thanks to the ability to learn and pass on their knowledge first by word of mouth, and then by means of writing, have reached cosmic heights, penetrated into the atom, learned to treat terrible diseases, transformed the Earth, created many cultural monuments and works of art.

Knowledge is acquired, starting with the school bench, and in some cases even earlier. There are methods of teaching very small one and a half-year-olds to reading, math and languages. School education now includes subjects that further help to obtain technical or humanitarian specialties. Continuous education can promote the comprehension of many sciences, systematize knowledge and apply them in practice.

But it would be wrong to say that continuing education is a blessing and nothing but good. Developing science and technological progress can bring humanity back to the level of animal existence. There is a beautiful caricature of the evolutionary development of man from the monkey to the information age man and back to the monkey. This is not just a ridiculous picture, it is a warning that says that labor was made from a human monkey, and the refusal of labor will lead people to an animal existence.

Many people understand this danger and try to counteract it as much as possible, at least in their family and close circle.

Well-known scientists and futurists sound the alarm in all bells, publish articles and books, but the desire of mankind to increase one's own well-being and comfort, the desire to easily pull the fish out of the pond is so great that the danger is ignored or seen far away. Most people over and above the measures used to rely on technology in all spheres of life, so soon they will not be able to sew their own clothes without a machine, bake bread, build a house, get food and drink, raise children, etc.

Only continuous education, self-improvement and self-knowledge, coupled with spiritual aspiration, can stop humanity near the abyss and will not let it fall into it. But this should be understood not by the units, but by millions. Parents are obliged to pay as much attention as possible not only to the mental and physical development of children, but also to take care of their culture, creative realization and spiritual growth.
