Wheel excavator: overview, manufacturers, specifications

Excavating machinery has always been considered one of the most difficult types of construction machinery in the design plan. This is due to the fact that the mechanisms should not only provide traction for the movement of the main platform, but also translate it into working bodies. Against this background, the excavator on wheels is particularly noteworthy, in which both high power and considerable dynamic parameters should be combined. In any case, in terms of speed and maneuverability, such machines outperform caterpillar analogs. True, it does not do without flaws. The fact that the wheeled excavator has limitations on operation in the swampy terrain and problem ground with insufficient bearing capacity.

In addition, models on wheels often have less high technical characteristics - this, by the way, is observed in the carrying capacity, and in the engine's power potential, and in the depth of digging. However, the market presents different versions of this technique, the review of which will make the right choice.

Models from Komatsu

To date, the Japanese brand represents three versions of the sixth generation of its wheeled excavators. The new equipment is equipped with the EMMS system, which involves three operating modes. In particular, the wheeled excavator will be able to function with the expectation of working with increased effort, in an economical mode, and also in the format of a hydraulic breaker. There is an additional mode, providing for a lifting function. For the convenience of the user, all information about the machine's performance is displayed on the LCD screen.

There is a line of Komatsu and a seventh generation model. This modification, equipped with diesel engines with a power of 118 kW and a volume of 6 liters. A feature of this technique is the orientation towards the Russian climate. For example, some spare parts for excavators Komatsu specifically calculated for operation in harsh conditions - this, in particular, refers to the elements of the fuel system with a water separator. Also in the standard provision, an air filter and air conditioner are provided, which maintains optimum cabin pressure. The gearbox serves three operating modes, among which is a slow, standard and transport mode, allowing the vehicle to move at a speed of up to 35 km / h.

Excavators JCB

Does not leave this segment and the manufacturer JCB without attention, actively developing the model line. In recent years, the company has modernized existing models, including JS200W and JS1160W, and also introduced new ones - JS175W and JS145W. Today, the JCB wheel excavator is a technique equipped with AMS electronic controls, comfortable cabins with FOPS protection system, and Isuzu diesel units, whose power reaches 102 kW.

The dual-range Power Shift gearbox allows the excavator to travel at speeds of about 30 km / h. A slow speed is also available at a speed of 3.8 km / h. As a functional equipment, the company has provided a wide range of devices and mechanisms. In particular, articulated or one-piece arrows, three types of handles, different versions of buckets, hydraulic hammers, grapples and destroying aggregates are offered. With the maintenance of JCB technology, problems usually do not arise, but along with the updating of the models the company has also provided more reliable spare parts for wheeled excavators. This applies to glow plugs, batteries, hydraulic filters "Plexus", as well as other parts and components.

Models of Hyundai

In the case of Hyundai, immediately follow the line of Robex excavators. In just 5 years, the company has grown to produce fourth-generation machines, which indicates the introduction of the latest developments. It starts with the engines that are supplied with the Hyundai excavator in different versions. The manufacturer equips the equipment with two diesel units - Cummins B and Mitsubishi. The control system is implemented by the SARO complex, which involves three modes. By the way, the user can save the control settings in the system. Also, the operator had modern options. This, for example, the possibility of digging forces by 10% and instantaneous dumping of revolutions.

The approach of Japanese developers to the functional provision of technology is also interesting. Outriggers and dumps are available for any version. Monobloc and articulated booms at the same time can only get a Hyundai excavator in the seventh generation. For the remaining versions there are several handles and buckets available - the exact number depends on the modification.

Models of Hitachi

Manufacturer Hitachi offers four versions, among which representatives of the line ZAXIS. Models of this company have long been known to the European and domestic market, but there are also innovations added in the process of the latest restyling. For example, modern modifications are characterized by a strengthened swivel base and a cabin with a more robust design. Also, the creators are working to increase the operational resource of friction mechanisms. So, in the latest modification, the Hitachi full-rotor wheel excavator is capable of operating for up to 500 hours without servicing. The differences between the models include the use of polymer gaskets, which are used in brackets for fixing the boom to the base. As for the power pack, the Isuzu diesel engines are used. For the convenience of maintenance, the designers have made the oil filter with the water separator more accessible.

Volvo Excavators

The company "Volvo" also pays much attention to the production of special equipment. Not so long ago, the manufacturer has set up deliveries of wheeled excavators with a total mass of 14 to 20 tons. Each model is supplied by its own diesel engines, which are distinguished by reliability and economy. Also wheeled excavator Volvo has a gearbox provided with reinforced protection and fuses, which do not allow you to switch abruptly from a high speed range to a lower one. By the way, the minimum speed mode is up to 3 km / h. If the technology moves under the slope, the hydraulic transmission motor will perform the retarder function.

Mini-models of wheeled excavators

Almost all manufacturers of special construction equipment produce compact and manoeuvrable mini excavators, which differ not so high in productivity, but are indispensable in close operating conditions. To date, this category is represented by small-sized models weighing no more than 12 tons. On average, the mass of such a car is 8 tons.

In terms of functionality, such models also have something to boast about. The technician is supplied with rammer, hydraulic hammers, mechanical seizures, ticks, planing boards and clamshell buckets. Nevertheless, mini excavators still provide quite a weak effort in the digging process compared to full-size analogs.

What characteristics are important in choosing?

As practice shows, pay attention to the selection of the excavator should be for any little thing. This applies to the size of technology, and to functional filling, and to controls. Much also depends on the engine power and the speed at which the machinery moves. Manufacturers are thinking through all the nuances and are eager to offer a wheeled excavator in several variants. Thus, the user has the opportunity to provide for and operation on problem ground, and work with heavy materials, while not forgetting the area of the working area.

Conclusion

Acquisition of special equipment - the operation is very expensive, which implies an even greater responsibility in the selection process. To date, the market offers wheeled excavators, prices for which vary from 1 to 5 million rubles. Of course, there are options that are knocked out of this range, but most of the quality models are within it. The initial segment is quite naturally represented by mini excavators, and then full-size versions follow in different trim levels.
