Sphynx: cat for the soul

Tell me, what emotions do you feel when you see the Sphinx? No, not the stone guardian of the Egyptian pyramids, but the cat of this breed. For sure, the first reaction at the sight of this extraordinary creation is a smile to the ears, because it's hard to imagine a more amusing and strange cat. It seems that this creature came to us from another galaxy. Who knows? Perhaps it is, because the sphinx is a cat that is really unusual. Similar to a faience statuette, she is extremely smart, charming, playful and perceptive. Her exotic appearance and lack of hair create a feeling of defenselessness of the animal. She immediately wants to touch, take on the handles and ... leave for yourself.

But before you take this space creature into the house, it would be nice to get a little acquainted with how to properly care for this breed, and decide whether you are ready to morally and financially "pull" it. Despite the fact that caring for sphinxes is simple enough, you will need to periodically monitor his health and, of course, eat a lot and tasty. When purchasing a kitten of this breed, be sure to make sure that he has all the necessary vaccinations. Honest breeders, as an attachment to the kitten, should give you detailed recommendations on its contents, as well as a veterinary passport and a metric. But the metric (it's a pedigree and a cat's card) is issued only if you acquire an animal with a pedigree. If you do not care if the parents of your bald kid are titled, then you can do without the metric. Also, you must give the tray that the cat used before you bought it, a jar filled with a small amount of feed.

You should also know that the sphinx is a cat very voracious. But this is compensated by the fact that in eating it is unpretentious and eats almost everything that it will give. This is due to the elevated temperature of her body - it is higher than that of an ordinary cat, by 0.5-1 degrees. That is why, in order to maintain its high energy exchange, it has to eat a lot. But this does not mean that it needs to be fed around the clock and anything. It is advisable to combine natural products that you eat yourself with cat food: today one, and tomorrow another. Food, preferably, dry and high quality, such as Royal Cane, otherwise you will spend more on treating your pet. There should always be a bowl of clean water.

Direct care for the sphinx involves cleaning the ears and teeth, washing the eyes, cutting the claws, wiping the tail. Ears should be cleaned very carefully and do not push the cotton swab too deep, otherwise you can injure the animal. The teeth and gums are gently brushed with a toothbrush (the baby will do). Eyes to wash with tea leaves or chamomile broth. Claws need to be cut with special cutters, but not with scissors. With regard to the tail, it should be regularly wiped from the outside by degreasing, but not containing alcohol, a remedy.

Sphynx - a cat with a very delicate skin, so you need to take care of it almost as much as the skin of a child. By the way, children's hygiene products are quite suitable. In addition, these cats sweat, so always have ready-wiped wipes that do not contain alcohol, or a special soft sponge, which, as necessary, you can wipe the cat's body. Of course, the sponge should be moist. Also, it is not forbidden to bathe the sphinxes, but to this procedure they need to be taught from the young claws, and then, most likely, they will themselves ask for bathing. Wash the cat either with a special professional shampoo or a high-quality baby shampoo . Be sure to wipe it after bathing, or even more soak with paper towels.

And a sphinx is a cat that can sunbathe. Yes, these transcendental beings are very fond of the sun and the heat, and from the periodic sunbathing they can change color (almost like people). But just like to people, sphinxes are inadmissible for excessive exposure to the sun. Also, do not allow the cat to stay in a draft and close to open windows (especially in winter). Buy her a beautiful cat's house where she can hide, and scratching. But if she starts asking you to go to bed at night - do not deny her that, let her go under the blanket. Sphynx simply can not sleep alone, they need to cuddle up to you with all their hot "suede" calf and lull their purring.
