What does the language of flowers say?

In life there are situations when it is very difficult to find the right words. To express their thoughts, feelings and emotions, people often use sign language, which can say more than a correctly composed sentence. For dancers, the body language is available, which is expressed in movements and can be very eloquent for those who understand it. But, probably, few know that the flowers are able to speak their own special dialect, which is called the "language of flowers". To tell about your moods and feelings, without resorting to words, you only need to collect the right bouquet. Here, plant species, their color range, and quantity will be important.

According to historical data, the language of flowers was born in the East, or rather - in Turkey. His forefather was the Selam system, developed by Oriental women, who were trapped in a harsh social framework and did not have the opportunity to communicate. Selam is a system of symbols in which each object had its own meaning, and from their combinations sentences were written that carried the necessary information. Europe learned this secret language in 1727 from the travel notes of 2 travelers who visited Istanbul and learned about the lives of Muslim women.

Then, in the 18th century, the language of flowers, which for many was the only means of communication, was very common, and each bouquet was the bearer of information. Important was not only its composition and color scale, but also the time and method of offering (inflorescences up or down), the presence of leaves, thorns, etc.

In 2011, attention to this forgotten topic attracted Vanessa Dieffenbach. "The language of flowers" is the name of her book, which tells about the life of an 18-year-old girl who grew up in an orphanage, who is afraid of people, their words, touches and the whole world around them. Harmony and peace, she finds only in her garden, where she grows her favorite plants. The language of colors for her is the main way of communicating with people.

Modern society does not attach much importance to the composition of the bouquet, paying attention only to the aesthetic side of the issue. However, when selecting colors for different cases, the relevance of one or another species to this issue is assessed. In addition, the condition of even or odd number of buds in a bouquet is always observed. Today, as always, red is the color of love and passion, white is tenderness and purity, yellow is a symbol of financial well-being or a sunny mood, and even recently it meant infidelity and separation. But even now in different countries one color of flowers is treated differently. In Japan, yellow is a symbol of light and good, and the Jewish people have the color of sin. White color can also have several meanings, depending on the occasion, in some cases it symbolizes sadness. Green - the color of hope, and pink - the romance and tenderness.

Rose as the recognized queen of flowers always symbolizes love. Recognition in sincere feelings - this value gives red tulips a language of flowers. Gerberas are a positive and a smile, a mystery and a flirtation. These flowers have many positive meanings, they can be given to men and women, friends, colleagues and lover. Presenting a bouquet of gerberas, you express sympathy for the person. The yellow-orange composition of these flowers will illuminate the house with joy and a good mood.
