Pinching petunias is one of the most important agrotechnical techniques aimed at the correct formation of the bush by increasing the number of lateral shoots. If this operation is neglected, then the plant can turn out to be elongated and have a pathetic appearance.

Pinching Petunia is done for the first time, as soon as its top grows eight centimeters long. Planting sprouts in a permanent place, you need to timely feed and water the plant. When the lateral shoots grow ten centimeters, it is recommended to reattach the petunia. Although it is not necessary, if, for example, the flower grows in a suspended state, and you want its shoots to be as long as possible.

In the process of vegetation, the subsequent pinching of petunia is done in those cases when it is necessary to form a uniformly developing bush. In such cases, you need to cut only very stretched compared with other shoots. However, the important role in the formation of the bush is also played by the distance between the plants. Densely planted seedlings will not be able to give good lateral processes, even if the petunia is squeezed in a timely and correct manner. Choose the distance between the plants in accordance with the variety of petunia, adhering to the recommendations available on the package with seeds.
